It's really eye-opening to see the differences in education costs around the world. Your experience in Germany sounds much more affordable! Thank you so much for tuning in!

Millennial here age 33. Was able to save a little over $300k in cash outside of my retirement accounts because I live with my parents . I always joke that “I’m a broke bloke!” Lol. 😂

So you’re living the “cash is king” lifestyle while mastering the art of parental housing? That’s next-level budgeting! 👑💰

@@rashidaherbers404 lol. When I was in my early 20s, financial advisors told me to take a lot of risks because I could afford it with my age and time horizon. I honestly didn’t know what I was doing at the time and was very arrogant that I knew a lot about stocks. All it took was one big mistake and I lost a fortune in a blink of an eye. Since then I’ve been very conservative with money and have never touched the stock market or investing and just saved cash. I was surprised that without the help of investing I was able to accumulate over $300k and be debt free at the same time. I don’t get paid very well either. Right now I’m taking advantage of the high money market yields and I get around $1,200-$1,300 a month in interest which I see as supplement income. I’ve read a lot of books about investing and what is more appropriate for me. I am planning to slowly go back into investing with a more solid plan with mitigating unnecessary risk. I am also eyeing on higher paying jobs and may apply to them with the experience I got from my job which is stagnant at this point. My parents were kind of well off so they own several properties mortgage free. They do not work because the income from the rents they get is enough for their essential and living expenses but once in awhile I will help them out when large unexpected expenses such as repairs for their properties prop up and they don’t have enough cash to cover for it.

Let's not act like it wasn't for many of them choosing to squander every little penny on little (or not so little) nothings.

It's definitely interesting to see how people prioritize their spending. Everyone has their own way of enjoying their hard-earned money!
