My first New Year's Eve in the Navy? Started real drunk with the white redneck sailors in this horrible new land. First actual duty station I really wanted. Hoped to show up at the prom in a sports car and dance with a pretty girl. Showed up in a beat up pinto so I could watch her dance with a real man! One friend answered the phone! In this absurd land. Patty. Sailor, worried about her friend. Went somewhere. I was drunk and depressed, assumed I woke up in the same place except there was a full grown sailor laughing his ass off!. Patty's dad. His first and only name was chief, if I had to meet him when I was was sober! Where was I, early......news morning same dark night. I landed in hers families living room floor and they loved me! Daddy sent his girl way south to Orlando so the Navy can tell the Filipino chiefs daughter how to be a sailor. She stuck the landing. That was a daughter of a sailor rescuing a stupid American American sailor who met the ocean. Dry land sucked a lot less, I could get drunk and beg for help. That was a cop USN, really proud of his little girl, because she got certified. Filipinos. I wish I was as American as a Filipino. I figured if I waved at the ocean from Nebraska and nobody pressed charges, I wouldn't mention Navy if Navy didn't. I stuck the landing

@@ahsayamisaya7844 There is no call for jealousy over unsound ventures of another country. It just takes one supersonic / hypersonic missile to sink a ship, no matter how large. US had an aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. Did it achieve anything of consequence in its alleged role of keeping the area? Now, after the Houthis hit a US Destroyer with a missile, the aircraft carrier has been quickly pulled out of Red Sea. They recognized the fact that a missile strike would send the so-called air power, and the Naval pride (along with precious lives) to the bottom of the sea. Aircraft Carriers are merely a perishable status symbols. In the age of missiles, carriers have inconsequential military value.
