I remember seeing the original 2D animated short of that exact story with the same narration by James Earl Jones a lot as a kid. Never have I thought to see how this construction paper animation nailed the story and I absolutely adore it!

James Earl Jones A.K.A Mufasa reading something that, I read with my 3rd grade class when I was, just nine years old? Cool! If Mufasa loved Stories, he'd be telling them to his Granddaughter, Kiara.

I always wanted to see a Lion King themed kid's show where Mufasa tells stories to Simba and Nala and they are actual African folk tales.

Heh, nice "blood" effect at 2:20! I also like how you used James Earl Jones's narration of the story. I remember it being used in that '80s animated adaptation of the story as well, though yours is very well-done too!

Now that there is a little something I'd like to call the mosquito effect. Also aren't all the other animals just as guilty as the mosquito was? The python broke into someone's home and a monkey straight up killed someone but all the other animals just ignored that and decide to only blame the mosquito for the whole thing. All in all no one in the animal kingdom knows how Justice works.

I haven't heard this story since I was in elementary school but now hearing it again as an adult, I don't understand why the mosquito got punished. I think the python was the one who started the whole chain reaction that resulted in the death of the owlet. Why did he assume that the iguana was plotting against him? The iguana was his friend. That's paranoia and the python should have been punished or sent away to a mental institution. Or made into a belt. Take your pick but that mosquito is innocent.
