the irony of shadowpriest being used here and the "just use your instant cast procs" when all of those are getting removed in 10.1 and Spriest is back to hardcasting everything. Rip Shadow.

The core information is definitely there: max your globals, don't force hard casts if it's unrealistic to do so, less fakes more baits using another school of magic, etc.. The 18s clips comparison was surely interesting and it would have been very nice to show a few more exemples (ideally using the same class vs a similar comp). Even entire games. I would personally be very curious to have a series like that on the website. Also, it shouldn't be much work on your side as the most difficult part is just getting your hands on VODs that fit the purpose.

This is very true, i was having trouble as warlock. I had enough and just had confidence, and made plays i wouldnt usually make. Confidence is key!

Returning player, left in MoP. Elemental was always my main, but 4 days ago I just farmed my last conquest gear piece and said I would just give up on DPS casters since most of the time I am the target and each class nowadays seems to have at least 3 shut downs, even considering that Elemental nowadays is way better with all those instant casts Lava Busts and useful skills like Icefury for when they lock you in Fire/Nature school, it is still garbage playing the whole match with 2 melees doing everything to stop you from playing while ignoring your teammates. Started farming conquest and rating with my Frost DK and Arms Warrior for the same exact reasons you mentioned in the first minute of this video and it is MUCH more satisfying playing melee.

The frost dk is only really good in rbgs, tbh. You need those people to stand still. Its a very bad spec in shuffles for that reasion as everyone runs away like headless chickens, especially your mates. Frost DK nowadays is ironicly more tanky than unholy, even tho, unholy can heal more with necroticwounds and blood plague. Frost Dks are the most tanky melee in shuffles rn, because everyone even melees are running away from you(if its not a warrior/ww monk lobby). They know you can burst cleave them down, if they come close into your DnD. Alot more has changed from MoP to this DF, Frost DK class design got a lot worser overall and in pvp. You don't have the old chains of ice that do really stop people from moving, the modern CoI are just normal slows that people can easily deal with + you have a lot of globals to push once in reach - this makes it hard to get kills. Frost DK works better with devoker now in normal arenas, its a setup class, i am sure, the old design of frost dk in MoP and especially WoD(better coefficents, and most classes lost abilities to pruning) would have been S tier in shuffles. Class is ruined dude, you should better stick to your shaman, they get good stuff in 10.1 just in a week and i have no doubt, enhance is on the rise, too come 10.1. While you can just play enhancer shaman, which should be a solid pick in 10.1. due the the changes to the spec and class overall. 100% sure, enhancer will be much better in 10.1 than frost dk.

quit my mage and hunter season 2. couldnt get to 1600 rating. and 30 min queues didnt help. rolled fury war, got to 1800. not bothering pushing higher. dk 1800 too, and DH as well. no going back to caster

I mean, yes, max your globals is a pretty solid advice. HOWEVER, I don't know if this is just me but I've noticed in high-rank arenas that if you're a caster, you're not focused 100% of the time as pros seem to rotate targets. In low ranking, it usually goes 'Go the caster with less health' and if its you, boi they stick like glue to you for the ENTIRE game and eventually your healer can't keep you up. I don't know if the game has radically changed for me, but I feel like interrupting an entire school of magic is just an outdated mechanic that puts casters below melee classes as you can have all your schools locked down if you're trained by melee cleaves. Distance is not even an option anymore since melees just have an equal/higher number of close-up abilities + speed-ups than casters so they are ALWAYS on top of you.

Frost and Arcane melt melee faces, and frost is one of the most tanky specs in shuffle you can play. Fire is a joke compared to what it was in previous expansions tho.

Frost is a tank spec that melee’s cannot catch, ideal for arena since they cba to even target the mage. When i look at target dummy SP, lock and Ele that get trained 24/7 it just makes me sad

playing caster is stressful there's too much mobility and off healing in the game, melee has too many abilities immune to slowly and root and you're always on them

comparing the SP and the Boomy at the very beginning was a terrible analogy lmao. all druid specs have insane mobility. SP litertally CANT get away. surely of all the poeple out there you guys would know this

if tunneling a ranged dps as a melee is a viable playstyle this will always be the case. if they made the interrupt on a longer CD this would help a lot. a kick having a 25 sec CD will drasticly make more ppl do ranged dps. but being locked all the time is not fun. 5 sec kick on a 15 sec cd + other melee 4 sec on 13 sec cd then there is 7 secs to do something. Then u have multiple stuns en ur completely locked out. hence the DEMO lock and bm hunter are so good.

doesn't matter what you're playing or fighting, if two or three players of equal skill to you are both fully focused on shutting you down, they're going to succeed... which is why you have two teammates. where are they in this scenario where every single cc in 3 enemy spellbooks is being used on you? hypothetically, your team are doing whatever they want since nothing is left to stop them. a big part of succeeding as a caster is having a good team that don't just tunnel vision on their own rotation, but understand how to enable you to do your job better

Demo and BM are basically the meeles of casters. Demo will get a harder time tho in 10.1 since they will need to Hardcast the dogs, so going ape mode on Demo will shut him out harder

Here's some of my own experience at low ratings: I only play caster and I'd been really struggling to climb until fairly recently. I always felt like I should have had a high rating and in games where I felt like I played well enough to win 6-0, I'd been getting a lot of 2 or 3 win results. BARELY losing those over and over but still getting hit with massive rating deductions was getting really demoralizing. I kept looking for answers in forums and guides and I didn't see anything helpful until I found a Reddit user who mentioned how, it's not that I'm bad at my spec, it's that I don't properly understand its win conditions in arenas. Now, I think this advice was right and wrong. I applied it to my own play at first under a narrow lens and I still felt like I deserved to win my games. After a while, I started to think about it another way. Maybe others don't understand my class' win conditions - or even their own. That's when things started to click for me. For instance, if my teammate continuously positions themselves out in the open, making things rough on our healer and never adjusting despite taking loads of preventable damage, is there a way that I can distract and disrupt the other team so much that it saves my guy? If my teammates take away my own best win conditions, is there some other way that I can force wins by enabling them instead? It turns out that there often are, which means that I have more control over the outcome of matches than I thought. People will just say stuff like "you win 30%, lose 30%, and can control the other 40%." Well, that's not even true, but the main reason it isn't helpful is because it doesn't really help you understand how to influence the games differently. Maybe you are reacting great. Maybe your positioning is spot on and your damage is fantastic too. Should you do a bit more dps? Should react a little quicker? Sometimes the right move is to just to adjust your play and support the others on your team even when they aren't supporting you. The bad thing about that is that I find it really mentally exhausting. It's not that fun when compared to playing a match where your teammates have great awareness and you are kind of free to focus on what you do best. But, it seems like that's the way to go if you want to break out of low MMR. That's what has worked for me at least and I hope it helps someone who is struggling like I was. Now, to confirm what's being said in this video, Skill Capped's comments about not pressing enough buttons is very true. I would even say that's been my top reason for losing games in situations where I could have won - as in the games where the loss was clearly my fault. Almost all of those have come down to not putting enough pressure on the other team because I wasn't using enough GCDs. It's like, scarily easy to fail in that respect without realizing you're doing it. A lot of sudden pressure or a shift in momentum can cloud your ability to notice that and you end up forgetting to hit your buttons while you're reacting to all of those changes in the match. Keep calm and keep pressing buttons. Something is definitely better than nothing in most cases.
