I often get asked how to build discipline in working on games, or how to create the ideal planning. Yet recently I've come to the realization, that none of that matters. If you don't have a strong reason to make games in the first place, it will be really hard to stay focused and motivated through your gamedev career.
That's why finding your gamedev "why" is probably the most important requirement to building a gamedev (or success in general) mindset.
