What you named cynicism I name realism. People dont want to change. They like the world as is. Only few realy desire a change, most people just want to complain bunt dont want to change.

People don't want to change, except people that do want to change. Also people change all the time without trying. Look at public polling changes over time. We don't need everyone to want to change. We just need to change the environment so that people naturally evolve in more productive ways. We are constantly molded by interactions with the environment

I disagree that it's "realism". What's real now and what's real in the past or future are different, and the change happens by an altering of beliefs. Being cynical is a position of resignation, or laziness... choosing to believe things will always be the same and therefore what's the point in working towards something else. This is a guaranteed way of KEEPING things the same as they are, which presumably is NOT what we want. Cynicism blots out any belief or enthusiasm about making a difference. That is not realism, it is defeatism.

@@musicexperiments if is an acurate statistics then is realism. Defetism is an negative vision about data, but a pure data is just data, so realism.
