6. Why Was Jesus’ Deity Necessary? Jesus needed to be fully man in order to earn our redemption. It is also crucially essential to insist on the full deity of Christ as well, not only because it is clearly taught in Scripture but also because
(1) only someone who is infinite God could bear the full penalty for all the sins of all those who would believe in him-any finite creature would have been incapable of bearing that penalty;
(2) salvation is from the Lord (Jonah 2:9 nasb), and the whole message of Scripture is designed to show that no human being, no creature, could ever save man-only God himself could; and
(3) only someone who was truly and fully God could be the one mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5), both to bring us back to God and also to reveal God most fully to us (John 14:9).
“No one who denies the Son has the Father” (1 John 2:23).
“Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son” (2 John 9).

A Christian is a person with the "Faith" of Abraham in God of the Bible and believes only Jesus is the Way, Truth & the Life and is the promised Messiah (Man) & God from the Torah sent by God the Father to be the pureover Lamb ( body & soul) to save any who believe from God's just nature to punish sin by Man with death (body & soul). Any additional teaching about Salvation through faith in Jesus(God) is usually Man's interpretations and leads to cults. The Catholic Church is a Christian cult with many false & pagan teachings in addition ... to God being a Trinity and Jesus is God's Son sent to be the sin sacrifice. Now. What JW teach about Salvation for sin. Is it only faith in God's Only begotten Son, born of a virgin 1 Nisan 6 BC and died a sinless virgin 3 pm Wednesday Passover 30 AD, resurrected 3 days later, spent 40 days in Jerusalem fulfilling Jonah and finally raised to Heaven with a new body to return 2 000 years later (Hosea 6) with the 144 000 Chosen Jews to rule the world for 1000 years? Jesus was, & still is, the Angel of God who created Heaven, Hell, Universe, Earth, billions of Angels and Adam & Eve ... knowing it would take 7 x 1000 years for Mankind to procreate all of God's Children. See. Every Christian religion is a cult because they have relied on clear false teachings & wrong interpretations for 1995 years and ignored what the Bible clearly says. God told us from the beginning with the 6 day creation & the 7th day belongs to Him ... that Mankind has 7 000 years to procreate and in the year 6000 God will rule Mankind for the last 1000 years. Jesus studied the Torah and knew from the prophesies when He will die (30 AD) and return (2030) but He also knew there is not time in Heaven & Hell so he only focused on you not knowing the day or hour you ... die .... and your soul leaves the Universe with time and goes straight to Judgement Day which is after the 7 000 years. This is why He did tell the Apostles He returns 2 000 years after he dies fulfilling Hosea 6, when they should always be return for His return because they don't know when they will die. And because the Christians in Judea did not study the Torah as Jesus had, they didn't know the Temple will be destroyed 40 years after Jesus died ... especially when Jesus said Jonah is about Himself and the fate of Jerusalem (Temple). They also didn't know the Little Horn of Daniel 9 ... is the AntiChrist that will arise from the fall of the Roman Empire, will pretend to represent God but is all about Man's authority, will rule for 1260 years persecuting Believers and forcing them to convert (666) or killing them for heresy. The AntiChrist is the Papacy & early "pagan" Catholic Church and the False Prophet is Islam AND False teachings in Christianity. Again. Catholicism is a Christiain religion ... but ... clearly a cult ( Man's ways, interpretations, false teachings). But Mormons & JW are not Christians religions at all but just like Islam copied & corrupted teachings from the bible for its prophet, gods, idols.

the answer is because he was God in the flesh......not part God or a % of God......if he wasnt fully man then he could not ahve identified with mankind nor could he have been able to die for our sins and save us from the wrath of God......hew was fully God because he came from the father as part of him.....since Jesus had no mother then he must have been ALL of God.....he had no sin nature like all of mankind....

I must correct you on your assumptions. Believing Christ has come in the flesh does not require one to have an intellectual understanding of God incarnate. Faith in the very Character and being of Jesus, that is His entire recorded works as written is what is demanded of the Father. To believe on the one He sent. You can completely leave out all philosophical discussions about the triunity of God and still be saved! I will however agree one should never deny Jesus deity even if they don't understand. But it is clear that Jesus FULLY bore the image of God.

Unless we say Jesus only had God’s spirit, in which case Jesus would not have been “totally” human, what happened to his human spirit/soul? Can anyone explain: If (Jesus is totally God) then how is (God totally man)? The totally God-man theory is impossible to explain truthfully. This is because this theory has its own, self-contained contradictory clause built-in; hence to be the “totality” of anything leaves NO ROOM to be anything else! Therefore whatever the one is, the other he is NOT! (Numbers 23:19 (NLT), 23:19(KJV); Hosea 11:9; John 5:37 (NLT), 5:37(KJV)) Bible’s definition of God is not disputed: God is an invisible/all-powerful/immortal spirit. The Bible’s definition of man is not disputed: Man is a visible/not all-powerful/mortal flesh What is true by definition will always remain true unless we start redefining things. For example, 2+2=4. This equation will always remain true. The only way this can ever become false is if we decide to change the definitions of the component parts. The “attributes” of a Spirit A Spirit is regarded as supernatural and is separate from matter. Matter is whatever occupies space and is perceptible to the senses - (man is an example of matter) Jesus confirms this definition to be true: “God is a Spirit” and “a spirit hath not flesh and bones” (John 4:24, Luke 24:39) Supernatural is not explainable by the known forces or laws of nature; specific, of or involving God, ghosts, spirits, etc. The definition of the word spirit does not provide information as to what it looks like. If a spirit is a supernatural being (something not explainable by the known forces of the laws of nature) then it is possible that a spirit can live inside a human being and not have the physical form of a human being. (John 1:18; John 5:37; 1 John 4:12) Therefore, if a spirit is something that is “not explainable by known forces of the laws of nature” that means a spirit can be in anything and anywhere because it is not bound by the laws of nature. This is NOT the “attributes” of a man. * To be a man means to be limited: (lacking in knowledge, prone to mistakes, imperfect, flesh) * To be God means just the opposite: (all powerful/knowledge, immortal, perfect, spirit) Now, by definition, a thing cannot be the opposite of itself. A thing cannot be “limited” and “unlimited” at the same time. The presence of one of these qualities implies the absence of the other. Jesus was either one or the other. He cannot logically be both. Either Jesus COULD sin OR Jesus COULD NOT sin; WHICH IS IT? Note: (Having the “ability” to commit sin (or disobey God) is different than putting that ability you have into practice). If Jesus was NOT “capable” of sinning, he would indeed be totally GOD!!!! If Jesus WAS “capable” of committing sin he would be human (or not “totally” God), because all humans are capable of committing a sin against (or disobeying) God. It is this aspect of Jesus’ total obedience to God (John 8:29-30, Romans 5:19) that was remarkable. God’s plan, even before the foundation of the world, was for Jesus to be our savior and redeemer. (1John 4:14-15; Galatians 4:4-8; 1Peter 1:19-21) If Jesus was “totally” God it would be impossible for God to sin because God has no one to whom he must obey, Jesus would have never “truly” overcome the world as our example of being sinless flesh by surrendered will to another. God’s Spirit (divinity) indwelling the human body of Jesus (humanity) demonstrated two different types of spirits in one body (1Cor 2:11). This is why Jesus said the words he spoke were not his, but that of his Father [God] (John 12:49-50; John 14:24) God was with Christ (Acts 10:38) NOT incarnated as Christ. But why was God in Christ? (2 Cor 5:19-21) The LORD (Isa 42:8 = YHWH = Jehovah) was the God in Christ

@@FransJCMartins God is not like man. He is a different and higher being. Read the baptism of Christ, in the gospels, the Son receives the Spirit descending from heaven, while the Father is talking. One God almighty, three divine Persons. This is the 'mistery' of divinity. If men could understand God it would be a problem, because He would not be infinite then. As Salomon said, believe what is said and do not lean on your understanding.

@@jeffc5474 When this occurs, this shows the unity of the Godhead, of the three Persons, because they are one God, and so one all being together. This shows that they are not three different gods, but one. But Jesus separates himself also from the Spirit, when he says that if man blasphemes Him, it could be forgiven, but the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. So we can clearly see the unity and at the same time separation of the three divine Persons, wich teaches us the mistery of the trinity. Lean not on your understanding, ptherwise you will fall, but believe what God says.

Scripture says Satan is the god of this eon. I have absolutely no problem with Christ being God. He's simply not the SUPREME God. Colossians 1:15, Concordant Literal: He is the Firstborn of every CREATURE. That settles it with me. Nowhere in Scripture does it say anything remotely close to that about our Father. The Son has a beginning (In the beginning), neither the Father nor eternity do. The Son has a God the Father does not. The Son dies the Father cannot. How do the trinnies get around this problem since they insist on equality? They divide Christ. They say either only His body or His humanity died. Thus do they dishonor the beauty and simplicity of His word. Regarding the other demonic doctrine, the immortality of the soul, Isaiah 53:12, again, Concordant Literal: He empties out His soul to death.

So Moses was a Catholic? Moses identified the Angel of God & Spirit of God as God, used Elohim for the first name for God, used male singular & plural nouns & verbs for God and clearly in Genesis 18 said Abraham saw God as three Men. Genesis 18 does not say the three Men are God & two Angels. All three Men are God, which is why Abraham worship all three as Lord, treated all three exactly the same, and all THREE .... told Abraham to do what he said he would do for THEM, then all THREE asked where Sarai is? Only then was one of the Men clearly identified a God telling Abraham he would have a child in a year from now. This Man was the Lord God (Head) and the other two were the Angel of God and Spirit of God. And when the Three Men(God) left, Abraham then spoke to God (Spirit) in another form pleading to save Lot. The Spirit of God is everywhere & usually unseen and can take multiple forms at the same time. So Genesis 18 & 19 were all about explaining the Trinity and how it works, with God (Spirit) being everywhere and therefore usually manifesting Himself on Earth, and the Lord God (Head) & Angel of God (Word) in Heaven and can only take one form at a time. Abraham, Jacob & Moses all knew the Angel of God is God and God is male, singular & plural (3). And Issac is clearly NOT Abraham's "Only begotten Son." Genesis 22 is actually about God's "Only begotten Son" and the Messiah that God will provide to atone for sin. C'mon. God knows ... Issac is NOT Abraham's "only begotten Son." And the punishment for sin by Man is ... death (body & soul). You sin, you must die (body & soul). God can NOT pardon sin by Man. This is why God must provide the sin sacrifice ... that will satisfy God's just nature. So Genesis is absolutely positively about God being a Trinity and confirms the Messiah will be God's Only Son and ... the Angel of God who created Heaven, Hell, Universe, Earth, Angels and Adam & Eve.

Messiah who Represents God, not who Is God Literally Over and over again the Christology[3], that is, who Jesus is, in the Gospel of John is not “incarnation”, that God became a man. Rather, the presentation of who Jesus Christ is in the Gospel of John is “agency” - the man Jesus of Nazareth is God’s agent and therefore represents and is empowered by God. The main theme of this Gospel is that Jesus, like all the prophets, but even more importantly so, was sent by God. Try typing the word “sent” into a computer program and see how many times in the Gospel of John Jesus is described as being sent by God. Over 40 times. Try reading the Gospel of John with the idea that Jesus is God’s representative sent agent, and not that he literally is God. The Jesus of Nazareth of the Gospel of John is not God literally, but represents, reveals, and is empowered by God. Jesus was sent by God as God’s representative, as Jesus said “Whoever sees me sees Him who sent me” (John 12:45). In this Gospel, the author distinguishes Jesus from God and Jesus distinguishes himself from God continually (e.g., 3:16, 8:40, 15:1, 16:30, 14:1, “Believe in God, believe also in me”). Jesus is distinct not just from one person of a godhead, but from all of God. For instance, Jesus describes himself as “a man who told you the truth that I heard from God” (John 8:40). The Jesus in this Gospel, over and over again, says things like “I do nothing on my own authority, I do nothing by my own power, I do nothing by my own initiative” (5:30). “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me” (7:16). “Father…this is eternal life, to know you, the only true God, and Jesus the Messiah whom you have sent” (17:1-3). An eternal God, even if he had “become flesh”, would never say such things. Sure, the deity of Christ proponents points to a handful of other short statements in the Gospel of John to claim the “deity of Christ”, like “I and the Father are one” (10:30), or “my Lord and My God” (20:28). But it doesn’t take much thought to see the problems with these short “proof-text” interpretations, and that there are other, better ways to understanding these statements. This “proof-texting”, taking a handful of short statements out of context ignores so much of the rest of the Gospel. We shouldn’t ignore the other 18,000 words in the Gospel of John to bolster our Greco-Byzantine pagan idea that the Jewish Messiah is a second god figure who took on flesh. When people saw Jesus, they did not see “God the Son”. There is no “God the Son” anywhere in the Gospel of John. When people saw Jesus, they saw the only God, the God who sent Jesus, the God whom Jesus represented, the Father. Jesus was not literally God the Father, but he made the Father known. Jesus manifests the Father and the Father’s character. As Paul described, Jesus the Messiah “is the image of the invisible God” (Col. 1:15).

Through Christ, Father Elohim made Himself known to this world. John I4:2I he who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me, and he who loves Me, will be loved by My Father and I will love Him and manifest Myself to him. @plainwhitepaper3898 John teaches us in the first chapter of his gospel, that the Lord Jesus is the Word made flesh. He was God and was with God, and the Father made everything by Him (John 1:1-3). And Christ made the Father known to us, because afortime He was in the Father's bosom. Wich is also why Christ says that He is the only way to know God ald to be saved (John 14:6).

John I4:24 he who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is NOT mine, but the Father's who sent Me. Let's ask Jesus who he is. He says he is: "a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God". "And because I tell you the truth you believe me not". (John 8:40, 45). Deceit is defined as: 'deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth'. If Jesus is "fully God, fully man" - (a phrase nowhere found in scripture) he is not really a man, he is a God - man hybrid. So was Jesus concealing or misrepresenting the truth? Saying he is a man, but concealing he is fully God, and not being completely truthful. We are told there was "no deceit in his mouth" (Isaiah 53:9). Jesus doesn't tell half truths. Peter gives witness to the same conclusion in his description of "Jesus of Nazareth, *a man approved of God* among you by miracles and wonders and signs, *which God did* by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:" (Acts2:22-23). And because I tell you the truth you believe me not". (John 8:40, 45). When this comment is deleted you will know whether the above statement is true.

@@rosabasile740 Only God could save man, and the Father loved Christ to the point of glorifying Him exceedingly to all of His creation, so what a beautiful and wise thing that Jesus would manifest himself in the flesh, to the likeness of our dirty sinful flesh, to save us and be glorified by the purchasing of our eternal redemption.
