Mel, please, please don't take the comments too seriously as there are alot of negative trolls out there. My observation is that this appears to be a common problem across many good channels. Your videos are always entertaining and mildly informative and I suspect the vast silent majority of watchers are pleased you choose to share your antics with us. Keep up the good work buddy.

The art of making films and videos is to compress time by planning ahead and shooting cutaways and cut ins instead of real time footage. I don’t know how KZbin pays its suppliers but if its length and not quality of shooting and editing skills that the trouble. I have followed you for a number of years now Mel and seen how all your skills have improved..

Mel you have your own things to do throughout the day and to earn money to get stuff you need to complete your van and you have inspired me to build a van after Christmas your video's are so good and informative and I'll be copying alot of ideas, and this video make me laugh at the end of it keep up the good work Mel

Nobody will ever understand how much longer every job takes when you are filming too. Everything takes 10 times longer. A massive amount of effort goes into sharing these things with people. I definitely know your struggle and appreciate your effort. 😁👍

Totally agree and then i get comments off trolls like “waffling for 16 means before we see the van”. People don’t realise the job literally takes more than double the time by filming and explaining and when you’re a small channel like mine that’s not even monetised, people shouldn’t be too quick too complain, moan and judge.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks they can judge how long you take to do anything! I just don't understand why people don't just unsubscribe and go watch someone else if it troubles them enough to comment. We totally understand just how long it takes to make vlogs. In fact, I'm always thinking, it must be so difficult to work on a project and film it in the way you do. So total respect Mel 😊 Here's another "heartwarming comment" for you... we think you are fab 😁🥰

Many years ago I went to watch the filming of the film "chariots of fire" in a day they shot the end of a race and part of the opening scene, it must have taken 5/6 mins if that on TV, but took all day to film, so I have an idea of what it can take to work and film at the same time, keep up the good work. perhaps there is an Oscar waiting for you at the end of the day !!!

Hi Mel I've never filmed a video for KZbin but I do know how long vans take to convert and I think some people can underestimate just how long a van conversion can take , KZbin can make things look easy and quick but the reality can be quite different especially if your van isn't undercover due to the UK weather , I wouldn't take peoples comments as being negative towards you as they are watching your videos, take your time, enjoy the process if that's possible 😂 all the best

If you'd taken a month to convert it, those same naysayers woukld have said "ooooohhh Mel, you should take your time or you'll fluff stuff up" You cant legeslate for keyboard trolls. That being said, it was good to see another side of you and good on you for helping Bob restore the church hall. Thank you for another good video. I wouldn’t really worry about other people. Thinking that you are taking a long time as everybody who does manual work realises jobs just take sometimes sometimes a lot longer than what you think they’re going to do and also having to video video everything you do take an awful all the time so I wouldn’t even worry about what they’ve got to say. I’m no videographer but would it be possible to have 2 or more cameras with a remote switch for each on a mini hand held controller to flick from one to another. I know it wouldn’t get over the fluffed lines and bloopers, but might ease editing, a bit like a music midi? Well explained though , and vids always eagerly anticipated and appreciated😊

Perhaps everyone should try to film a youtube video or 2 before ever making a comment on someone elses content. Yes, some times you watch something that you would like to leave a bad comment on....but why bother. If its that bad, just unfollow them. I watch plenty of people and come to the conclusion that I dont much like them and some of them I actually think are idiots🤣🤣. But I keep that opinion to myself and move on. But as for filming a project or part of it, yes, it multiplies the time taken to do it 2 or 3 fold. The fussier you are about the filming, the worse it is. Worse still for me, is that I try to film it and waste time, try to edit it and waste time, then leave it unedited because I dont have the skillset to edit it how I want to. I do see how you feel the need to explain to people as it probably comes from showing so much of your life on camera. Ed
