Her holding the puppies head in her mouth is actually her teaching the pup. Female dogs will do this to discourage a puppy from nursing but also if the baby is acting in an undesired way. It's like a gentle scold, my dog has done this before and she doesn't have puppies, it's an instinctual thing

I read somewhere that a female dog can get pregnant by more than one dog and that sometimes thats why some dogs give birth tk different looking puppies cause their breeds maybe different if they had different fathers which is crazy to imagine

(accident at doggy daycare) seven of them (Red, Teal, Lavender, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue) - Moon (male husky, kept one of lark's babies-Teal) - Shadow (male husky, J&D tried to keep Lark's baby Red, but he ended up having aggressive tendencies due to littermate syndrome so he had to find a new home like the others) - Sakura (black female pregnant rescue cat) (kept her) - Sakura's kittens, the zodiac litter (Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) - Azula (female foster cat, was pregnant but lost the litter) - Hen (foster mama from junkyard) - 6 junkyard pups (Duck, Goose, Shark, Otter, Bear, Moose) - foster mama dog Roo - Roo's litter (Hare, Tiger, Bison, Panda, Raccoon, Monkey) - Daenerys (white foster mama kitty) - D's kitties, the Greek Goddess litter (Athena, Persephone, Aphrodite, Nemesis, Rhea) - took care (for a couple of days) of a mama duck and her 9 babies that wandered into his backyard and got stuck - May (husky foster mama husky) - May's babies, the Months litter (January-light pink boy, February-bright red boy, March-lime green boy, April-hot pink girl, June-blue girl, July-purple girl, August-lilac girl, September-yellow girl, October-orange boy, November-black girl, December-aqua boy) *the babies are usually adopted by other people (other than Moon) and then renamed!

My opinions and thoughts about her attitude and feedings is this: Since they were introduced to soft foods early- I believe it was week 4-5, they’ve pretty much almost weaned and she’s not producing enough milk at this point to really even probably manage half their needs. Plus, she had an enormous litter. Pretty much almost double what a new Mommy really could manage. In the wild, most likely about half this litter would’ve survived. It’s just nature. Humanoids are the same regarding breastfeeding in that if you supplement your breast milk feedings, your body adapt and doesn’t produce as much milk. When we are 🤱🏻 breastfeeding babies, especially the first 3-6 months, we are told to never skip feedings as much as possible because it diminishes supply- that if you must miss a feeding to pump it. That way, your body will reproduce that milk as normal the next day. Everyone seemed to think she was taking March away and leaving him alone but she recognised who was in need and that’s who she kept trying to move first to give extra attention and food to. She would’ve gotten out then all eventually.
