Love Mogra agarbatti too! My Jasmine flowers are blooming inside the house with constant heat, smells so good! Karele story! Hahaha. I always make it like fried with tomato, spices etc but never boiled. Too bitter. Some people just like to be in their homes mostly, just visit others. My mom is like that too, likes to be at home, rarely stays out. Doesn't want to fly and come here even for a week. I can understand that, it is boring for them here and also travelling is long and hard.

Loved the Vlog as usual..I love karela, the crunchy ones bengali style. Even my son has developed fondness towards Karela . You know I loved the way you explained why your in laws don't come and stay with you. It is the same with me. My in-laws came during my delivery. Post that it has been 4 years. They never came after that. Actually they are so used to their own lifestyle and comfort of home that they don't want to step out of it. Which is completely understandable.

In goa we have stuffed karela with prawns. I used to not like Karela as it was so bitter to eat. I remember taking out the prawns stuffing and give my dad the karela to eat 😂

Hi Suchi, nice vlog...yes the paneer is really looking too yumm. You know Suchi, many a time as parents we take decisions that are in favour for kids' growth , education, opportunities etc etc. When the child grows up, has a life of his or her own, he/she too wants parents to see, experience the life with them even for a short while. With age many a time, we get used to our comfort zones, our bed, own pillow or even my own toilet perhaps and keep dillydallying, overlooking sentiments overt or silent of our children. So ideally, even if I do not like travelling or am s cared of long flights etc etc...it is better to do it before age and illness cripples us, for our child's sake, so that we can enjoy. As goes cycle of life we have been away from Kolkata for over twenty years, and have been at the receiving end so far...now time is coming when son will start working will set up his bachelor home and is already telling me when I will have my first apartment just by myself, you will come and stay with me , right? I am saying yes, no hurry you settle down we will come and spend some months with you here. But reality is my Dad is 83 , staying with me, can not take long travel, so actually I do not see myself making this trip in near future...that pains me.

I love bharwan karele ki sabzi, I know why Anuj likes it. North India side specially Delhi and Punjabi cooking we make a lot. We have a lot in common btw, my in-laws are from Panchkula/ Chandigarh area and retired Air Force. They don’t like long distance travel either plus the loneliness although NJ/ NY has huge Indian population but apna ghar apna ghar hota hai!

Dear I also don't like kerala much. My hubby loves it. So I cut it very thinly.. I do not take the skin off. Jeera garlic lots of onions sliced long fry a bit add kerala add haldi corrinder powder chilli powder and sambar powder. Cook it on slow fire till well done and dry. Goes well with roti and dal. Please try this recipe. My son likes it this way only.oh and add curry leaves. You can use Indian sesame oil.

Actually Suchi we are having the same situation here also in India, our parents don't like to stay for a long time with us bcoz you know they get bored. They prefer to stay in their known neighbourhood with friends and all..... and we have to respect their choices...but sometimes we feel bad too....so I can understand your situation very well Suchi ☺️

Sometimes you can stuff some powdered peanuts and sesame seeds with amchur, saunfchillie powder,haldi&salt also it will taste very good & shallow fry .Jusr as innovative idea l have shared,that is instead of onions& kalaugi.It is up to your choice,if you wish to try you can do so.
