And yes there is absolutely NOTHING wrong in having a c-section but I hate it when people make you feel like you didn't go through "the right" birthing experience if you didn't deliver naturally
@MyInspiredHome5 жыл бұрын
exactly! I’ll be sorry for having a C-Section when people start being sorry for having heart surgery. In one case, your body didn’t deliver naturally and in the other case your heart stopped doing it’s natural thing. What’s the difference? It’s called science and technology and people now live longer because of them.

You’re story breaks my heart a little. Having a prev CS does not make you high risk. I have Gestational Diabetes and have had a csection and I’m still not considered high risk. It sounds like your providers and hospital were not VBAC supportive. I believe you went to the hospital too soon. You have a better chance at a successful VBAC without induction. It’s best to avoid any and all interventions for best chances at a VBAC, no cervical checks (more risk for infection), no water breaking (puts you on a “clock” and also raises risk of infection). Pitocin is also not recommended for VBAC and also RAISES risks of fetal/ maternal distress (higher risk of CS). Pitocin is also known for making babies HR drop with contractions. If you do end up having to get pitocin make sure they start you on the lowest possible dose and raise them as slow as possible. They should have let you move around even after breaking your water. Not being able to walk/ move around slows down labor and that raises risk of CS as well. Also, many baby’s don’t engage into pelvis (move down/drop until you start pushing!) There are actually more risks having a CS (and repeat CS’s) than having a VBAC. Pregnancies can last up to 42 weeks! Do not rush your body and baby’s natural process if you and baby are healthy! I hope this comment gives more hope to more women to try and fight for their VBAC and I hope you will consider trying for a VBA2C. ❤️

Xo xo well normally those things may be true, in this case her baby’s umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck three times. This not only prevents the baby from being able to descend, but it constricts the oxygen flow to his brain during each contraction. I am very supportive of natural birth, having had unmedicated birth with both my children, one being born at home. I have also been a doula, midwife assistant at home births and hospitals, and am now a labor & delivery and NICU RN. But sometimes a C-section is life-saving, and we need to recognize that and support it. In this case, I think her C-section saved the baby’s life. For example, a friend of mine had three natural deliveries at home, but with her fourth baby, her labor would not progress. She went to the hospital and ended up with a c-section. It turns out her baby had the same issue with the cord wrapped tightly around the neck several times. Unmedicated birth and vaginal deliveries are great. But there are definitely times when a c section saves lives.

I loved this. I have 6 kids 3 natural births, 1 preterm cesarean in north Africa at 31 weeks, 1 cesarean at 38 weeks because dr refused vbac with a premature cesarean prior and due date was 23 months after first cesarean. I then got pregnant with my 6th and had an amazing vba2c in north africa with the best dr and midwives at 39 weeks and my due date once again was only just 23 months or so after my second cesarean. It shows my previous births were at 40 weeks 37 weeks 36 weeks Cesarean 31 weeks Cesarean 38 weeks Vba2c 39 weeks. I suffered depression and severe PTSD from my 31 week emergency cesarean but the process of recovery was easier then my 38 week cesarean. It was a huge healing for me to birth my baby once again and not because I felt broken or cesarean was wrong but because I love birthing my babys. Although, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and strength alhamdulillah.

Hey, Your experience reminded me of my first birth except it wasn't vbac, I had preeclampsia and I was induced early and after all the contractions and epidural they had to do emergency C-section. I am also planning to go for vbac and I am not sure if it will happen for me. But as you mentioned at the end that there is nothing wrong about getting baby delivered via c-section, which put smile on my face because I am still dreading to go through same pushing and tugging and recovery experience after c-section. Alhamdulillah you and your baby are fine and doing great. Great video Anam. Looking forward to more videos.

Have faith, ladies! Do not be afraid of birth because it is an amazing experience and very powerful - whether you have to complete with cesarean or are able to do vaginal birth. If you are able to finish vaginally, you will feel like you 'can't do it' when you are pushing and the head is nearing the point of crowning. When you feel that thought appear, allow that to give you confidence because it means that it is almost over. Push through the thought and it will disappear - you will find new confidence and can then push the baby out. There will be a sharp harsh popping feeling as the head pops out and again as the body finishes coming out after that. It is really okay and you will be just fine. Breathe through and your baby will be born

Previous c-section can mean a high risk pregnancy IF it is very soon after the c-section like getting pregnant soon after the surgery. Because those tissues are not fully healed and your scar is still settling on the inside and it has to stretch out all over again and it makes the surrounding skin (around the scar) thinner thus meaning higher chance is uterine rupture. I’m 100% not a medical professional I’m just repeating what I’ve learned from my doctor and other doctors. Please always discuss any concerns with your doctor. With that being said if it’s been a few years since the c-section then the pregnancy itself shouldn’t be high risk solely because of a previous c-section so I’m not sure about that one🤷🏼♀️
@Lolee56 Жыл бұрын
Every doctor is different but in the US typically most doctors are hesitant of dealing with a tolac/vbac patient as they don’t want to get sued if something goes wrong because the uterus is jeopardized. No matter how much your scar tissue heals it’ll never be as strong as an intact uterus, and the more you get cut open in that same spot the more unlikely you’ll find a doctor you will let you labor

Have any of you C-section mom's ever had random pain in the area where your scar would be? I had an emergency cs with my first in 2015 and then a scheduled cs with my 2nd son in 2018 bc of his health problems. I don't really remember getting the pains after my first but I've gotten them since my 2nd. I did have polyhydramnios with #2 so my stomach got extremely big /super stretched out. The pain usually happens after lifting/carrying something heavy. It's like a sharp stabbing pain that I feel on the inside. I'm gonna bring it up to the doctor because I've always wanted to try for a VBAC but idk if this pain is "normal" or if it'll keep me from trying for VBAC.
