If it's through your account and the amount has been freshly transferred, then it can lead to rejection. So best if it's from the sponsors' account along with proof of relationship.

Hi Sharmistha, Thanks for the insights! I will be applying for fall 2022 intake. My funds will be sponsored partly through my savings and the rest by my dad. But in my case also my Dad was an NRI(Dubai based). He retired in 2016 and came back to India. Never filed an ITR because the interests he was receiving through his savings never got taxed. We have enough funds to meet the elibility criteria for Ireland, however the ITR part, I will only be able to provide for this year and next year. Will there be a rejection in my case? All the funds sponsored by my father are in the form of FDs which are more than 6months old. He has his service letter from his employer which he got during his retirement, his work visa stamped in his passport and salary slips during his employement tenure. These documents are good enough to prove that he was an NRI and I don't need to worry about the ITR ( as per my consultant) Your thoughts on this ?

As a parent your father can sponsor you. Also as an NRI it's a known fact that he will not pay taxes or file returns in I India. Bank statements should be able to prove the source of funds/deposits as remittances from abroad. You can include ITRs from 2016/2017 after he is back to indicate that the funds are declared and taxes paid where applicable since he is back. The most important thing is that the funds in the form or savings account balance or FDs should be organic and not something appearing from thin air. Example: if you are showing 10lac FD, Then it should be believable that the money is from saving from income or sale of property or student loan etc.. FD without a proper source could look fishy.

@@vasudevreddy7252 : Thanks Vasudev for the insights, I have made him file ITR for this year and by the time I will be applying for visa next year, he will be able to file another ITR. He never filed an ITR before since the interest he was getting from his savings were never taxed. However the FDs and LICs he has put his money into will be more than 1 year old at the time of applying for the visa. And for the FD we can even provide the official letter from bank, when the FD was created. So I believe this will be enough proof in my case. Any second thoughts?

I just had one question in mind, it'll mean a lot if you could answer that. A friend of my father payed €500 as my confirmation for a seat at the University in March. Since my father's bank account wasn't working. As you mentioned that it has to be a family member that's sponsoring your education, my father happens to be the one who's going to fund my whole education, it's just, those €500 were paid by my father's friend. Hi Mam!! I applied for my Irish visa on 20/12/2021.I have prepared a perfect cover letter with the guidence of my counseltant. But at VFS office they told to modify the cover letter because it looks like same as my resume( But it is completely different). With the tension in mind I just prepare a new cover letter and I submitted it to VFS . Unfortunately the newly prepared cover had some mistake in my financial details But I submitted all the necessary financial documents perfectly. I am so scared of my results. Please give any guidance..

Need some urgent information. My son’s study visa for a masters program got approved but shows only a 6 month validity although we had applied for the full years program. Is this normal? He has to fly out in 3 weeks & we don’t know what to do. We were expecting a one year visa. TIA

Hello Suneeta, Your son will have to book an appointment with the GNIB office in Ireland and get the visa extended for the full year and the IRP ( Irish Residence Permit). This initial 6 month tenure is only to allow his entry to the country. Nothing to worry :)
