Naxx was definitely my peak. We were one of 3 of the first guilds in it on our server, and some of our members, myself included, were server first owners of some amazing gear. Being pointed at and cheered for in Orgrimmar for being the only one with a certain piece of gear was probably one of the most satisfying feels in any game. I think we cleared it once or twice but it was never consistent. Here we are trying to resurrect that same guild.. For One. More. Shot. GODSPEED, FOLKS.

Me too man. I remember my first time going into Naxx. As in I remember getting attuned and walking into Naxx and that was about it. I was a scrub tank didn’t know a thing. If it wasn’t valor or of the bear I would sell that shit real quick. biggest highlight of my vanilla career was getting carried through ubrs. Now that I know what I’m doing my guilds had Nef on farm for months now so I’m excited to get through AQ and hopefully get past the doorstep of Naxx. 😂

Yeah prob with sapphiron is you have to have several nax clears prior to sapp to have the gear for your raid. Kind of like getting your tanks geared for horseman

I went into Vanilla Naxx with 35 level 70s....prior to Blizzard removing it..the people had blues and greens..there was only 1 person in the raid that was familiar with the fights. Let me tell you...we wiped many times. So yea, that raid was no joke!!!

I made it to Naxx back in vanilla god it was about 12 years ago at least onwards, I miss how hard and how long it took us to even get in there. I think that’s why even now though i miss playing it and the eliteness of raiding that high end. Even though I can’t play classic for very long at all, I’m still drawn to it and feel so much nostalgia from it. I don’t think I could ever tell my wife or kid about it cause they’ll probably never understand! Oh was so good.

As someone who was part of world 7th kill on KT, I have to say that i completely agree with your assessment here. Despite enormous server-issues (10 second freeze on Thaddius, anyone?) Naxx truly was an unforgettable experience. Trying to figure out how to handle the different mechanics, without any previous knowledge was such an interesting challenge, which unfortunately won't be part of the Classic version.

In vanilla, we got Cthun like 6 weeks after it was fixed, so I was in a great guild, but not bleeding edge. We got spider wing, patchwerk, instructor, noth, gothik, globbulus. I liked instructor as i was holy priest and it was something totally different. Without the malaise of TBC coming soon and "what does it matter, all our gear will vet replaced soon" stuff Id have enjoyed it more.

As a Classic WoW player who never made it past a couple bosses in Molten Core I miss the mystique of raids like Naxx where it's inaccessible until you can demonstrate dedication. That prestige is motivating. During 8.2 virtually everyone will have been able to "down Azjara" by the end with LFR but I don't know if that's a good thing.

How do you miss something that you only put .001 percent of the effort to see? Discipline was Important in classic s I seen alot of people waste their weekly raid id on people who proved over and over again they didn't have what it took to lead a raid. When you play the raiding game listen to what the so called leaders are NOT saying and read their attitude. Don't get tied up with bad people when your time could be better spent farming materials leveling your alts production skills or farm those bus blues, and always keep a high stamina set, with this Stam set of gear you can out live bis people (blue gear).

While i do agree with most of your points and am myself looking forward to classic alot myself, I do think that you are wrong on some points. There are non linear raids in modern wow (not saying they are better than nax but all modern raids does not have set boss orders). Personaly i think ulduar did most things you talk about in the vid better like, picking boss order, epic feeling, intresting boss mecanics. Optionals hard modes to give the fights nice reclear potensial without swaping difficultys. Still liked the video good work!

I liked the WotLK Naxx more. I remember forming a 25 man normal pug and literally taking anyone who messaged me. I remember needing a healer and a priest asked if I was still looking for dps as well, so I said just respec and go holy to come... he said he didn't know how to heal so I said, "first time for everything, just go holy and come, I will do most of the healing anyway." And that is how I filled the last spot for the raid.

I would even say Dire Maul was the best 5-man ever designed, but with Naxxramas, I agree wholeheartedly that it was the best raid ever designed. I got to see the original Naxxramas during TBC, when a friend of mine was creating Atiesh. There is a huge difference between 60 and 80 versions. Proudly to state, I am also glad that I was able to obtain Conqueror of Naxxramas. Not really for prestige, but for the aspect of what I love about Naxxramas. Thanks, Punkrat, for making this video.

My fondest memories are of BWL. It pobly has a lot to do with the fact that I was the first Horde hunter on my server to get the Dragon Stalker's bp and the second to get the full set. I remember going in to AV and eventually alliance would see me and run the other way. Good times. But Naxx was awesome as well. I remember running this place before they nerfed it and it was insane. Once it was balanced my guild was the first horde guild to finish it on my server.

As I recall the reason more people didn't do naxx was because it came out right before TBC and people didn't want to waste time knowing that the gear would be replaced by lvl 63 greens, and it came at a time when a lot of guilds were "exhausted". I haven't heard that it was particularly difficult, main difficulty I have heard about is finding a sufficient amount of geared players and frost resist tanks especially. Difficult doesn't mean it's a good raid though, and I also haven't heard that it's easy although after watching speed runs it does look pretty easy but of course those guys have run it a bajillion times so, yeah. You are definitely right about the lore though, one of the best stories in all of Warcraft and frankly that's what makes a good raid...that's why I loved Kara so much. I do look forward to being able to try it though, it's actually pretty exciting because this raid has been impossible for me to do for over a decade on retail (other than wotlk version which ain't the same). I guess I am going to tank cuz I want people to invite me to groups. See you dudes in classic, I'm rolling alliance this go around.

Yeah, not too long after Naxx was released they announced TBC. It wasn't even just frost resist tanks. The whole raid needed resist gear for some fights. You are also correct about Naxx in wrath just NOT being the same. It was laughable at that point. When they rereleased Naxx, the mobs did the same damage they did at 60 but we as players had 3x more health and dealt roughly 4x more damage. I'm sure a lot of people remember the power boost their toon got with the quest greens in Hellfire however, that was STILL not a good as what you can get from Naxx.

This may be cliché to say because its probably been said by countless players in the past, and I know that there is a significant difference between the two, but here I go: I played during vanilla but I came to the game very late. I was level 51 when TBC released but I remember seeing videos about Naxxramas and it was my WoW dream to be able to experience that raid. I knew from reading and watching any video I could find that I would never get to experience the raid. (or the OG version of it at least) After playing TBC as a filthy casual I moved into WotLK with a different mindset because it was known that a remake of Naxx was gonna be the opening raid. With Wrath being my period of playing the game seriously, I'm thankful to have at least experienced that raid even it's a tamer version of the original raid. It kept most of the model skins alive (even tho they have have been re-colored) and obtaining Undying and Immortal titles was a lot of fun to work towards back then. It may not have been THE original Naxx but it was still a Naxx that I was happy to be apart of.

Karazhan is my favorite raid. The theme and fights were fun. The raid doesn't force you to be gated by resistance gear. The raids in Vanilla was enjoyable, albeit, I don't like the nuances of 40man, but it was how the game was designed and I was okay with it. I didn't like Raids in vanilla gating players from using certain specs to enjoy the contents so much. There was more freedom after vanilla in terms of specs and Kara was fun and rewarding. The ideas of being a chess piece, being in a play and so much more was so refreshing and different. Players can come in different lolspec, have fun and enjoy the raid. The layout of the raid was also very interesting. You're constantly climbing in a haunted castle so to speak. I mean, yes, there are times you gotta go down the stairs but, overall, you're trying to 'climb' to the top for the rewards. Finding/discovering special rooms, summoning a spiritual evil dragon and much more. It's as if you're playing a puzzle game inside a castle + adventure at the same time but with friends. Overall, it was amazing, to me at the very least.

i never cleared naxx back in vanilla (unlike, it seems, EVERYONE else has) my guild broke up at Vaelastrasz after not being able to kill him. i do remember however, doing the attunement and stepping foot in Naxx for the first time by myself. The feeling you got was indescribable, That's a feeling that i've never had about any other raid in the games history. Karazhan and ulduar were AWESOME raids in their own regards. but, that feeling u get from the first time u step foot into naxx, is something else entirely.

The best raids are HANDS DOWN these 2 : Ulduar and Karazhan. Ulduar for its amazing design, superb boss fights and crazy challenges. Karazhan because of its rich lore history with Medivh. Not a single raid before, or after these 2 brought as much as an unique vibe and feel that these miracle's of game design did.

Personally my favorite raids are Ulduar and Nighthold. The both hold my fondest memories I have in game for so many more reasons than just the raids them selves. Naxx must have been a very disheartening ‘failure’ from a developer standpoint. Just imagine all the time that went into making it for so little of the playerbase to actually see it. I like Naxx because there was something so mysterious about it. I didn’t kill many bosses back then, I think 3 or 4 so seeing videos on KZbin about the rest was so exciting. Like the first time I saw a video of Ragnaros before I started raiding. That and DK Arthas and Kel’Thuzad were and still are my favorite characters in Warcraft 3 which I must have completed more than 40 times by now. Sadly I remember back in vanilla I was so angry the voice of Kel’Thuzad wasn’t the same as in Wc3, and to be fair he didn’t sound menacing at all in naxx in comparison. And agreed tier 3 was damn sexy except for that warlock helm ew. Overall Naxx was great for so many reasons, it gets a solid 8 out 10 from me.

BlackStar Nae No doubt, the place was beautiful the bosses were cool mechanics wise, the place wasn’t super linear. My class had never been more fun to play, and I had a great time with my friends and guild more than I’ve ever had during any other raid which is probably the most important factor. Guldan is my favorite villain in Warcraft so that’s also a plus having him there. And it was the first time since MoP I raided hardcore and got cutting edge. Nighthold was amazing.

Part of the reason this was such a exclusive raid was due to how close this was to Burning Crusade ,. It was a harder raid sure,. I'm sure there were many guilds in Naxx a better example would be how many Guild cleared some of Naxx as a huge blockade was Four Horseman due to the mutiple geared tanks needed. Not many players wanted to spend the effort required to trudge through this when BC invalided the gear shortly after.

It wasn't even a realistic option on my server. Being one of the newer servers at the time, despite being in one of the top guilds on that server, we were just only breaking into AQ40. And yeah, the raid scene died all around before TBC, not just for Naxx. There was talk of still going through it during TBC, but you know how that goes... nobody wanted to raid lower content when there was TBC raids to do.

I was a filthy casual in vanilla. I had two level 60s, but never got involved in raiding outside of the first couple bosses in MC. I am not missing out again, but I am still hoping to be a casual... We'll see.

When does this come out again? Also what’s the future of this? Are they just going to have this standalone, no evolution? Are they going to follow the same content patch timeline as vanilla? I’d be surprised if blizz didn’t fuck this up overtime just like they did in the actual timeline.

The same Naxxramas was the first raid tier of wotlk, with just a bit higher numbers, which was stupidly easy.
