This is different. Asides from preschool shows and acquired programming, Nickelodeon only has three cartoons currently still airing new episodes on their main network! THREE! When was the last time the number of current original Nicktoons was that low?! Also a lot of their future programs are spin-offs and reboots with not much original stuff. To make things worse cable is dying and Nickelodeon like most cable networks, is desperate for ratings (hence why they’re unwilling to take risks at the moment). Unfortunately i don’t think it matters what kind of shows Nickelodeon puts out next, nothing is going to draw audiences back to their cable network. Streaming is the present and future and if Nickelodeon doesn’t make the switch to streaming they are in for a very dark future.

Nick's big problem is that they want all of their shows to reach the same level of popularity as Spongebob, but they're not willing to give said shows the time to gain that attention. It's not uncommon for Nick to throw their shows onto Nicktoons to die quietly if they don't reach Spongebob level of viewership within the first few episodes. We're never gonna get new shows with decent lifespans if Nick keeps unrealistically expecting them to be hits right off the bat.

Yeah... they seem to be going completely against what made their animation popular in the first place. They seem to, in all corners, go completely against why they're where they are today: Originality and creativity. And any project that isn't based on something that already exists, and is indeed original, is shoved under the bus by them. For a company that was trying to be different, they're really starting to turn into the type of thing they were originally against. It's funny how they still try to advertise themselves as fresh and innovative to people, and yet they're the complete opposite of it today.

Still miss the 90's when it seemed like the channel was more than just reruning popular shows. The channel had an identity and made itself accessible to it's audience through things like Nick Studios, special sweepstakes and programming blocks where kids picked what aired (Nick In The Afternoon, U-Pick Live). Slime was featured much more promiently, creative ID and bumpers inbetween shows. It was just a great time. Now there is none of that within the network,.

Dumb Movie Review Agreed. If I became president of Nickelodeon, I would make so many good chances to all the networks. Nick Jr.’s bumpers will mostly include Blue Face (if you know what I am talking about). TeenNick will mostly air ICarley, Big Time Rush, Zoey 101, Victoria and especially Drake and Josh. The Nick Rewind block (the one with all the 90’s cartoons) will be moved to Nicktoons from 7:30 PM - 10 AM. Speaking of the Nicktoons channel, it will have a HUGE improvement. Lets start with the shows. Nicktoons will only air good shows from the 2000’s, the bumpers will be more remembered like back then and most importantly, NO SPONGEBOB (even though it is my favorite show). As for the main Nickelodeon channel, it will give newer cartoons a chance to air, rather than putting it before they even had a chance to succeed. There will be a new Nick racing arcade game (similar to the game “Nicktoons Nitro”) with both 90’s and 2000’s characters to play as. That is what I would do as the Nickelodeon president. It's not just Nickelodeon that's over-relying on older properties, look at Disney with their live-action remakes and their poor handling of the Star Wars franchise, look at all the remakes and sequels of older movies being made. It's not just Nickelodeon, it's Hollywood as a whole, and they're doing it because they are creatively bankrupt and are under the impression that using a pre-existing brand will guarantee instant success due to brand name recognition, all while not caring at all about the quality of the product.

I feel we'll see more movies from other early 2000's properties as movies on Netflix: Danny Phantom, As Told By Ginger, The Wild Thornberry's. They can go "darker" like was cool back then, still get the Nostalgic vibe and get some Netflix!Cash Viacom really needs... We all know Butch Hartman will bring Danny Phantom back if he needs to animate it frame-by-frame himself. Also, they may license Elf Detective from Butch. I see Nick cozying up to Netflix as a symboitic relationship, as Netflix is going Heavy on Cartoons as of late, between courting Anime studios, working with DreamWorks, teaming up with Nickelodeon is the last pillar to fight the Disney/Fox TV Animation juggernaut...

At this point, I'm completely done with cartoon channels like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, and I will only support their shows I care about. I like SpongeBob and The Loud House, but Nicks complete overreliance on both shows is annoying and exhausting, and I will not support a network that refuses to evolve or try new idea's. What made Nickelodeon so great a few decade's ago was their endless variety, creativity and to open their doors to new cartoons, but in the past few year's all of that has been largely abandoned. They continue to unfairly put new shows down if they don't reach the same success as those two shows, and it's as if they are intentionally trying to keep it that way. They are going to continue to run themselves into the ground while losing more and more of their general audience, especially with Kamp Koral. Cartoon Network is no better either when it comes to their scheduling.

I know that Nickelodeon can regain itself they try greenlighting some of their shorts. I viewed a few of them and some are really good such as Planet Panic, Cupcakery of Doom, The Girl from dinosaur island, and the ballad of Bea and Cad. If they actually give cartoons time to breath instead of working of ratings then I think that they could really pick up, that is all up to their president and us as a audience.

It may not be original but one type of show I would DEFINITELY want to watch is a cartoon based on the ghouls from Miss Grimwood's Finishing School. For those who were either not around during the time it was on TV or haven't seen it in recent years. The ghouls I'm talking about come from the movie Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School; Sibella, Elsa, Winnie, Phantasma and Tanis. Not only was the movie super fun but to this day, a lot of people still think about these ghouls. Before Monster High came along, Grimwood's school and its student body were the best kind of characters and setting. Even certain people today still remember it. In an episode of OK KO, it was revealed that Enid WENT to Grimwood's to try and become a witch (and ultimately failed.) Then, later on; the Ghouls actually visited her within the show. Not only did they look awesome in the show's art style but they managed to get half of the original voice cast to play them. Alas...all too recently; the voice of Phantasma, Russi Taylor, passed away. Which means that even IF a studio chose to make a show on the characters, they would have to choose someone new (I vote for Star Butterfly's VA.) It's also worth noting that I recently came across a wonderful Loud House fanfic entitled Lincoln Loud and the Ghoul School. As the name implies, it has Lincoln attend Grimwood's as part of a student exchange program (the student coming to his home is a young zombie girl named Zanya.) This is meant to test the waters for peaceful relations between monsters and humans. Anywho; as I said, while the idea may not be original. It still offers a chance to introduce modern audiences to the characters and also give those of us who grew up with the Ghoul School movie some wonderful nostalgia

Been saying this stuff for years. The only saving grace that they may have is Glitch Techs and the Star Trek cgi series but that has been kept in the dark. I seen a few of Nick’s animation shorts and some are very cool. They really need to step up their game and provide more interesting cartoons. I know too that TV has been slowing dying due to streaming services and the internet but if Cartoon Network and Disney are able to succeed by taking risks and creating amazing content then I truly believe that Nick could possibly become awesome again.

Nick has really gone down hill. Too many live action shows and a over reliance on Spongebob! They refuse to green light new animated shows and slow to embrace new ideas and creativity! I would say the dark ages began in 2009 with the new logo rebranding and the new channel president takeover. Back then they did something called "what a cartoon" where many cartoonist got to make pilots and most of the best cartoons were from that! But instead today Nick is only being selfish. All this is more reason for Nickelodeon to burn to the ground. All they ever seem to do is reject original content, milk their most popular things, try to cater only to kids instead of making shows that both kids and their parents can enjoy together, force political views on children (which is already a big enough problem with schools doing the exact same thing), and they disrespect the legacy of late creators. The only thing they make that I still enjoy is SpongeBob but I only watch it on Amazon Prime Video since I can't stand what Nickelodeon as a channel anymore (granted the wait for new episodes is annoying since Nickelodeon likes to air sister episodes separately to delay release on streaming services and prevent watching reruns).
