This whole concert is amazing g...as I have the 2 CD and DVD collection in my SUV and the DVD ready to watch the concert whenever I feel in the mood! As for music suggestions..check out the recently released music video "Left on Mars" by Marko featuring Tarja! It's fantastic. As for more NIGHTWISH songs....if you haven't reacted to "Elan" ....the Music Video is fantastic. Troy plays his pipes and a tin flute ( trying to figure out what Troy can't play is hard! ). Also...react to "Kiss. While Your Lips Are Still Red" Marko is lead vocalist and Troy plays his large Mandolin ( I know it has a different name ) and he uses an "Ebow"... It's a very emotional song!

The Decades World Tour was in 2018. The tour DVD was released in 2019. Hence people get the year wrong. One of my favourite live performances ever, video or in situ. Great reaction, thank you.

30 September 2018, actually. This is the best performance of IWMTB and at the best overall concert.pity you cut off Marcos final comment - "It's a tango country". Troy is the leading exponent of the Uilleann Pipes since the great Paddy Maloney died. Floor's outfit is a custom-made one off by Royal Black Couture in Austria who undertook never to make another. The audience is phenomenal. Tuomas says the South American audience is the most enthusiastic. Here's what Marco says about touring South America... MARCO: "Floor handled it the best. When the fans were wreaking havoc at the hotel lobby, she just sternly said: " Hey, people, it doesn't work like this - please get in line, and everybody will get their photo and autograph." I'll be damned the disorderly fans actually obeyed her. That's a huge accomplishment in South America"

Floor is definitely the Valkyrie Goddess......remember that she's over 6 feet tall, weighs around 80 kilos, wearing heels, and dancing around the way she did........

Great review, now going to check the rest of your works :) The last concert of Nightwish I was at was at Gelsenkirchen in Germany, when they played this Emppu and Jukka both cleared the stage to give Floor the room to dance across the stage. At this point Floor was 6months pregnant and giving it her all, it was an amazing night at the open air venue on the banks of a canal with the barges passing behind the stage, magical and a day that will be hard to beat, my wife who is not a Nightwish fan bought the tickets for us for my birthday.

Hello again, Claire. Loving your Nightwish reactions and really appreciate the expertise you provide in your reactions. Yes, Floor teasing the audience into a frenzy before it got going was wonderful to see. She is a master at commanding the stage and her audience. This was such a fun performance. And this entire concert is fantastic. Thank you.

Just take a look at the opening song from this concert: Swanheart… The South American audience is known for being “direct” if they do not get what they expect 😅 And Troy starting with a beautiful slow melody on his low whistle, then managing to quickly change to the uillean pipes. You can see the confusion in the audience. I think it it Troy humor, like playing the Titanic tune when performing on a cruise ship (The Nightwish tour on “the Baltic Princess” in 2015)

Here’s some stuff I read. Floor had 48 hours to prepare for the Waken concert. She’s a cancer survivor. She was seven months pregnant during one show. (Image what her daughter will be like.) Backstage at a concert she saw Hannes Van Dahl of Sabaton drinking whiskey and she asked for some. Then she asked if he would share a cigar. He’s like “A rock goddess who likes whiskey and cigars? I have to marry her.” And they did it. Got married I mean. But that was later. What else they did that night is nobody’s business but their own.😊

Not For Wacken but she traveled to the USA to replace sick Annette. Her first concert was in Seattle with Nightwish in 2012. In Wacken 2013 she started as a regular member of The brand.

Sometimes Troy is referred to as the Bard… an ancient Celtic minstrel poet, traveling between villages telling stories, playing various instruments, and entertaining the villagers.

Nice reaction! You make such an important point regarding the exchange of energy. I know from back in the day when I was with various bands the importance of feeding off the audience’s energy. Some nights we played great, but something was missing. But when the audience was up for it, it made for a great night. Nightwish will always get that energy because their songs are such crowd pleasers. The best audiences in the world must be in South America. They are just awesome!

Uilleann is pronounced something like "illen". It means "elbow" in Irish. I haven't heard of Troy playing a flute, but he plays various whistles along with the pipes and guitars.

👍Hi Claire,You know, isn't it special and funny in a way, that a band like Nightwish has so much reactions from different kind of musicians,i really think that Troy is such a"great "asset" for them,it gives the band so much more possibilities in mixing up styles with metal. Why is the fanbase so great ? I think because of the great diversity of people,it's musicians of all kind, people of all ages and the vibe of Nightwish atracts people who like energy and emotions wich, give us good feelings. If you want more of Troy and even more complex duelling between pipes and guitar check out Troy’s previous band Iona. They used to have flute/sax, pipes and guitar all in unison in one incarnation of the band. They had a more Celtic prog feel and the Guitarist is mind blowing.

... I teared up after watching you watch the intro. It's like seeing something you care about so much doing something glorious. Watching all those people jumping up and down in unison... it's nice seeing your passion celebrated by any one person of consequence, but an entire crowd thoroughly enjoying it? Crave
