BRILLIANT! I knew all this and used it daily in my work life so why the brilliant comment? Simple I wasn’t doing it today and my sales sucked, consistently sucked!! I sucked for years I’m now 64 years old many years since retirement. YOU, YES YOU my brilliant Laser Lady have reminded me and refocused me. I shall now work through all my projects with your checklist and I know sales and sales referrals will increase. Great BIG business ‘hug’ to you my dear. With much thanks Bob England

"Not ready yet." That's me.....with EVERYTHING. It stops me from putting things out because they're just not good enough for ME.

I was the same way, still am sometimes. One day you'll find it's not so much about perfection, but progression. As long as you are taking the steps, you are further along than you realize. 😉

Great advice and I loved the quirky presentation. Keeping an ADHD lad engaged in the info for 15 minutes isn't easy and you did it well. I didn't even look at the comments till you were done

Jewelry. Completely dependent on income. No one spends money on non essentials unless they have extra cash laying around. Business 101....location, location, location.

Location is a big one. However, I'm not sure credit cards would exist if people didn't want to spend money they didn't have.

I just got the xtool s1 40w laser. Will pay it off in 1.5 years. I've made a few things, but nothing to sell. I mostly do leatherwork, and was looking to make some quick wallets. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to repeat what 1000's of Etsy sellers are already doing. I do have my own website, but no sales.
@LaserLady2 ай бұрын
Very cool! Leather is super fun to work with. I'm not familiar with what Etsy is most saturated with in that category. I would look into maybe groomsmen gifts, then you could sell them in bundles. Or, thinking money related, you could engrave financial mental notes on the wallet, like "Don't Forget You're Saving up for a Car" or something along the lines. Or, "Call your girlfriend". 😆Things like that would increase your chance of being included in etsy's "Gift Mode". I'll have a video soon about how I drive sales to my own site using etsy as my advertiser. 😉😉

Thanks for the video. Would you be willing to critique my product? I was on Etsy and am thinking about returning. Looking for honest feedback before I dive back in! 🙂

Selling items and patterns for 3 or 4 dollars is easy. Try selling items that are in the 20 to 100. And totally making your item by hand. Not just let a machine do all of the work. I have over a 1000 sales and did it one handmade item at a time. Once you have done that you can tell people how to get sales . Not trying to be mean .
@LaserLady2 ай бұрын
That's impressive! It is a great debate on what is considered handmade. I primarily sell jewelry, which I design on a computer, laser cut, then use my hands to turn into the product. I can absolutely your point of view. Perhaps then, I'm half & half in your view? I have a friend that makes plush animals with a sewing machine, which could fall into the same debate, or wood workers that use a cnc machine. It's fun to think about!💘

People who finish a critique with "not trying to be mean" usually are. Despite the products not fitting everyones idea of hand made the advice in this video is sound for anyone making or designing anything. So many people at the craft markets that I attend have really poorly finished products that are great ideas. Critique like "have you tried this to get a smoother finish?" is usually better received than " your finish is poor, sorry, not trying to be mean" I'm selling totally handmade products in the $200 to $500 bracket along with some cheaper CNC and laser products and I found the advice worth listening to.
