I think in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe of these creatures the power of these creatures make sense in their own individual context. Like a regular average human can be anywhere between 100-1000 ATK. but more rare and powerful monsters like blue eyes, obelisk, ect are rarely seen and less common in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe. Like a small gang may be seen as powerful and unstoppable in their own area. But when you look world wide at more powerful gangs and mafia the small gang that seemed unstoppable now look like a small fish in a pool of sharks

There’s that, and the fact that back when early cards like mystic clown were made they were pretty powerful. What many people don’t know is that while in the tcg we started with la jinn as our highest attack no tribute monster, in the ocg there was a time when hitotsu-me giant was the strongest no tribute monster. This explains why there were so many low stat vanilla monsters with 5 or more stars, and in such a format mystic clown would be pretty powerful when introduced

Why the Wicked Avatar looks like a ball is kinda cool. In the manga it is in Yugioh R I think it was called, when he was put onto the field he would mimic the strongest monster on the field. So say you had something like Masterpiece on the field and it was the strongest, the Wicked Avatar would turn into an All black version of Masterpiece. I love the card so much.

Man, i see two problems with these cards: First, their Special Summoning restriction. Second, if Konami just took a little time to just twic them a little before release, their effects would good to broken: - Dreadroot: Halve the ATK and DEF of all monsters your opponent controls (would actually be a little playable). - Eraser: ....... equal to the number of cards on the field x 1000 (would definitely see play in a lot of decks). - Avatar: .........cannot activate Spell, Traps or Monster effects.......(it would be broken and banned for life)

What if the eraser was kind of backwards to what it is. For each empty card slot your opponent controls he gains atk points, which demands your opponent play extra cards if they cannot immediately deal with him, which increases the potential payoff of his other ability when he gets destroyed.

Does it really matter how much attack The Wicked Avatar has? By default it can attack over any monster in attack position, so that's neat. I feel it could serve as a decent wall against your opponent getting out their own high attack monster to kill you with, as you literally can't kill it by having higher attack.

I feel like the Norse gods might be next (since the Earthbound immortals actually had competitive relevance), it sucks how the norse deities were nerfed from the anime heck they were even classed as divine attribute, divine beasts but in real life... :/. What really sucks is the deck actually has great potential but some of the "support" cards are just awful furthermore dividing the norse gods into three sub-archetypes only made things worse (at least they got an archetype tuner that can be used with all three gods now).

the wicked gods made a lot more sense in the manga where their purpose is to defeat the egyptian gods and no one has a man eater bug or hane-hane when they need it. but i do kind of wish they released these original effect ones as promos as well as versions for comp use. small tweaks would go a long way. eg wicked eraser wipes the board on summon, gains stats = all face up monsters at that time but cannot attack for one turn. give dreadroot something special in addition to halving, like piercing damage, block 3 spell/trap zones or coinflip all card effects for negation. and give avatar starting stats=combined tributes and permanently gains atk of monsters it destroys in battle

Alright so what I’ve seen in this video: Dzeff doesn’t do research on these cards outside of their effects. People don’t play them because of the tribute restriction. I’m going to be honest here, I do not consider these individual cards to have bad effects. You need 8000 Attack to beat over Dreadroot if you don’t happen to have a way to remove it (which is very possible because Mound of the Bound Creator is a thing). In today’s meta, the Eraser can become truly beefy. Finally the Wicked Avatar is the most interesting card of the bunch. It has a neat stun effect, which can basically stop your opponent from making their best plays (usually). Magnetic Compass and Mecha Phantom Beasts can turbo these guys out too... basically it’s not that these cards are bad, it’s that other stuff is so good. Now that you’ve brought to my attention that no one plays them, I’m off to make a competent deck on pro.

back when qliport first came out, and whenever their boss monsters got banned, i used Avatar as a boss monster for them. The pendulum effect that restricts summons doesn't affect him, qliport love generating field advantage for tributes, and lastly it can stop the opponent from setting their pendulum scales for two turns, or stopped shaddoll decks from fusion or using cards like foolish for a while, which normally was enough time to win the duel

Honestly if you wound up here wondering if you should play them, DO IT, Wicked Gods are insanely more fun to play than Egyptian Gods, Sacred Beasts or Nordic Gods, watching the desperation of your opponent when you summon both Avatar and Dreadroot is crazy if you have mound of the bound creator and both monsters with divine evolution. You will not win all the time, it is not a meta deck, it is hardly an anti-meta, but is so much fun

Actually, keep in mind that Avatar hasn't been updated to PSCT; its first effect isn't continuous, but a trigger effect that lingers for several turns. So while the Purple Poison play _would_ effectively be a 1-for-4 trade for the cost of a Normal Summon and 100 LP, it doesn't actually bring you any closer to setting up your scales.

Y'know, the last thing I said was based on the fact that, while ramming into Avatar with something that pops monsters on destruction wouldn't stop the anti-scales effect, it would still be pretty much an instant win due to how many resources were just spent, but then I remembered: Obedience Schooled is a thing. This cuts down the actual advantage lost by losing the Avatar immediately afterwards only -2, which ... is still pretty garbage given that it relies on two unsearchable cards, one of which can be stopped by Ash Blossom, but it does leave you in your next turn with four cards instead of just two and also dumps a bunch of monsters into your Graveyard at the same time. While this is a _big_ "maybe," maybe if we get an archetype of low-level Beasts that have Graveyard effects that becomes a meta deck in a meta of Pendulums or backrow, we'll possibly see Avatar as a tech choice in some builds. Probably not, though. It's possible, at least!

Wicked Eraser and Quaking Mirror Force. Wicked after quaking, can be pretty good. Combo with something like Doble Passe (A really good card with Drowning Mirror Force as well) and you have a decent play. Also, I don't see many people talking about Magician of Black Chaos MAX much. He seems pretty good. You get him in the 2019 Gold Sarcophagus tin, or Exodus, Ra, Slifer or Obelisk. I also think there is a chance of Monster Reborn, Neo Kaiser Glider and Nibru but I'm not sure.

Magician of Black Chaos MAX has 1-turn defense from effects if special summoned by paying a tribute. Chaos from summon, brings back spells from graveyard by destroying opponents monsters. I got him and Ra- they're both special arts and are signed.

Then anything summoned with the scale gives eraser even more attack. Then if you kill it, there goes your set-up. I run it as a gimmick Last Resort if my Plan falls through.

I love the designs of the wicked gods, erasure looks like some kind of demon out of hellraser, dreadroot is obolisk the edge lord, and the avatar is a ball in the card are, but in the yugioh R manga I would shapshift itself into a shadow copy of whatever monster on board had the highest attack, do you are attacking yourself sort of deal. As cards however they really suck

I can actually see some utility for The Wicked Eraser. It’s a decent form of indirect board control, since it’s effect works off of both spells/traps and monsters. Unless your opponent has something already in their hand or on the field that can take it out, they’ll be discouraged from playing anything so as to not empower the Eraser, effectively giving you control of the board.

Question about Wicked Avatar: you mention that it'd be a problem if you summoned it with no other monsters on the board because it'd come out at 0 ATK, but as soon as your opponent summoned something to attack over it, wouldn't its effect reset it's attack to that monster's plus 100? It probably still wouldn't make this card good, but my understanding was that since the text doesn't say this effect is applied on summoning, it was more of a continuous effect? I've been away from the game a long time though, so idk if there's rulings on that I've just missed.

Yeah, The Wicked God cards work in my DDD deck surprising. I run Eraser and Avater from time to time, and when they both hit the field, the synergy is actually insane. Also, I think your Wicked Eraser effect is kinda off, but I'll have to go check buddy. Awesome video, and keep up the great work.

I love the Wickeds, Yugioh R was amazing. Sure they arent amazing by most standards but they are iconic to me. I've found ways to make them a fun casual competitive deck. Also you didn't mention anything about the Wicked Avatars shape shift. In the manga it's a ball but takes the shape of the strongest monster. They didn't really have much choice with its art work. On a side not as a fan I'd love to see some update support for these cards!

I think, what I would like to see most out of the future retrains of these boss monsters, is to see them as Anti-tribute Bosses who can't be taken off the field by Kaijus or by Darkest Diabolos' Lair card. But even so, I know there are plenty of decks with a Weakness to certain cards or Anti-meta cards. Still, it would be pretty badass to see how these cards can use their old effects in conjunction with a newer effect(s) added onto them. Like say they gain Benefits from how many ever monsters were tributes for their summon, all the while "they become immune to tribute effects" your opponents try use. Still, the best Effect out of all three God's is Definitely Avatar's, yet I do wish to see an update to his effect, especially if he can say force your Opponents Borrelsword to attack into it! All the while the Avatar is basically an unkillable creature for 2 to 3 turns. :). Sure, it's an insane card.

I could practically see a use in Avatar and Eraser. Eraser is somewhat a good board wiper, and yes of course the summoning is a pain in the ass, but it can pay off in the end when you're using Monarch based Spells/Traps to make sure the opponent doesn't do anything funny. The Avatar can prevent your opponent from doing jackshit anything for 2 turns, which is a plus giving you the upper hand at this time, then by using some spell and trap combination or better yet use "Mausoleum of the Emperor" and "Double Summon" to get a "Vanity's Ruler" or "Vanity's Fiend." It can brick sometimes but it is really fun to play around with.

I'd love to see an Earthbound Immortal video, but that could easily end up being too long as you have to evaluate all of their individual effects and there are seven of them instead of just three. I used to actually have a dumb Fish deck using A Legendary Ocean and Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua to kind of stun my opponent. There were weird synchro plays and stuff you could do with everything's level being reduced, but it was obviously a horrendous deck created by a scrubby player haha. I had fun with it though!

The reason for the strange effects is that these cards are supposed to be inversions of the Egyptian gods, though technically based on the anime/manga versions of them. Also they would have been Divine att, Divine Beast monsters, but those types and attributes were not legal yet(These were printed before the legal Egyptian Gods). The Silver lining to this is unlike the Egyptian gods(Who share types/attributes with no real support), or sacred beasts(who don't share any types or attributes) there is plenty of support for both DARK and Fiend cards. Also here is what the idea behind their effects are: *Obelisk Tributes 2 monsters to make it'self stronger/destroy the opponent's monsters = Dreadroot weakens everyone but itself. *Slifer gains atk based on the cards in your hand and blows up a single monster your opponent summons = Eraser gains attack based on the number of cards on the opponent's field and destroys everything when it(Your monster) dies. *Ra, has multiple effects for gaining Atk, by Tributing Monsters and LP = Avatar only has one which requires keeping monsters alive.(The stun effect was added in after adapting the card from the manga, probably to reflect it's boss-like status)

3:00 The wicked dreadroot's effect hurts you more than it does the opponent. With 4000 atk it's practically immune from monster attacks already. However the halving of monster attack could cost you your victory as it reduces your damage output. It could give your opponent the extra turn that they need to get rid of it.

4k doesn't make it immune from monster attacks. It makes it stronger than the vast majority of monsters, sure, but the effect makes it supreme and immune for sure. And halving the attack points of your monsters doesn't change much when you're on the offensive even if you're aiming for direct attacks, since Dreadroot has 4k. Also even if it didn't change your monster's attack points, your opponent will likely have a turn left anyway.

I'm pretty sure the Wicked Avatar's stats change constantly based on whatever's on the field. You make it sound like it's stats become fixed upon summon, which would suck majorly, but I'm pretty sure that it's effect actually just ensures that it can beat over whatever's on the field at any time. In fact, the rulings I've read suggest that the Wicked Avatar's Stats even change *mid-battle*, so it even beats over cards like Clear Vice Dragon and is virtually unaffected by cards that increase or decrease it's stats, immediately reverting its stats the instant its stats are changed. In which case, I do not see how this card wouldn't see any play; with those effects, I would assume its gotta be useful *_somewhere_*, right? This is speaking from someone without much experience, though. And if this topic came up in a video after this, than I have not seen said video.

Not sure what it was like 4 years ago, but today if you can summon The Wicked Avatar on turn 1 it's basically an auto win against quite the number of meta decks. Backrow decks like Eldlich or Sky Strikers, any deck that needs to use fusion or ritual spells like Invoked Shadoll, and even a combo deck like Virtual World that needs a spell or trap to be on board gets severly crippled. Keep in mind that it's effect preventing spell/trap activation remains active even if it leaves the board. The main problem is that it can't be searched in any reliable way, and that it's hard to get 3 monsters on board to tribute summon while sill having a normal summon left, without locking yourself into some specific archetype. Konami even went out of their way when making Thunderspeed Summon that can search for a level 10 monster with ? ATK to restrict it to only non-dark monsters.

R manga, its effect to be the biggest monster on the field is represented on the field by it becoming a pitch black replica of the biggest monster on the field through the Solid Vision system

Well, The Wicked Dreadroot seems to me that it was designed to give middling-high attack monsters an opportunity to overcome your opponent's monsters; for instance, if your opponent has a monster that's just slightly higher attack than yours, The Wicked Dreadroot can help you break their board with battle. However, the biggest downside is the 3 tributes; odds are your slightly strong monster is going to be needed to summon it in the first place. The Wicked Eraser seems to have a purpose in breaking a board. If we remember that back when it was created, we didn't really have Fire Kings or known effects to destroy a card in hand, we can get a bit of a better understanding of how it could be used. It most likely would have been used when you are at a disadvantage, and you would find a way to summon it to break the board, or punish an over-extend. However, if you are behind it would be much harder to summon, considering that being behind typically means your opponent already has a lot of card advantage. Furthermore, since it has no protection on its normal summon, it can be countered, and sent to the graveyard as a result of the summon being negated. Thus, you can't even force your opponent to fall victim to an Elemental Hero Absolute Zero type effect. If it actually survives, there's a lot that can stop it, with minimal damage to your opponent. I can see why the ability to destroy a card that isn't on the field would be an interesting concept to play with, but even then, it's pretty bad. The Wicked Avatar, I feel like is meant to break a board that isn't exactly big, in how many cards are on it, but to break boards with a single high-attack monster, and stun your opponent at the same time. So I suppose it seems like a way to punish your opponent for putting their eggs in one basket. Even so, the stun effect is potent regardless, so who knows what they were thinking.

Wicked avatar artwork is because of the manga, where it was just a sphere of darkness that took the shape of the strongest monster in the opponent graveyard (or it banished a monster in a graveyard to become a copy of it until end of turn or something along those lines). I remember that the one issue of a yugioh manga I read was exactly the duel Yugi VS owner of wicked avatar. The guy made him discard Slifer, then copied it with 3 cards in hand. Chapter ended in the usual ygo cliffhanger of "will Yugi manager to face this challenge?" so I have no idea how it ends.

To be fair the wicked Avatar was always a Fringe option. It didn't ever see that much play but it did see a little. As cards like brain control, e-con and other effects to snag your opponent's creatures was usually used as part of how it was summoned. At most ir did see side deck play due to this fact although it was one of those cards that was used for specific reasons for a little bit of time to fill a hole in the meta. There were also some text that went in on using Soul exchange and this was one of the cards that was used in them as using your opponents stuff to bring it out was a lot more relevant when you had a lot of tools that could do that.

Really the Wicked Avatar's second effect can be an ensurance and paired with the second for example if you can use pendulem summoning to get 3 monsters on the field then also get a high level monster, like an XYZ or Synchro before summoning, then tribute summon to get Avatar ou instantly get 2 high Atk monsters, and Avatar's attack no matter what will be the highest so you have battle protection and your opponent will have to avoid using low level monsters for atleast 2 turns which you can also use spell cards at the same time. If in that time you destroy their highest level monster they cant set up unless they have a monster that can be summoned from the hand, meaning you get 2 high leveled monster almost instantly for a 2 turn protection.

the funny thing with mokey mokey is that I saw what they were going for with its simple strategy, having to use Mokey Beatdown to just bludgeon your opponent into submission since back in the day 3000 was basically the highest base damage you'd easily get, and only a few cards reached that level of power, especially for common cards. Like, Blue-Eyes was good even though a normal monster because its whole shtick was that raw power. Kind of funny today with the power creep where 3000 is basically the minimum a beatstick should have to even be considered for that purpose these days. but yeah, even back then, that's like, what, minimum 4 card with 3 of those being monster set up for more than a single 3000 atk hit? that's a lot of work when you can just summon a blue eyes with nothing more than a 3 card set up and just have a 3k beater every turn (until it gets vaporized with raigeki break or something)

I never knew of these guys until I got The Wicked Avatar(AKA blackhole of F) on a yugioh game. It was a really good come back card against almost any deck as it can beat over anything no matter what. Once it battles, it wins. Its attack cant be lowered, and it gains attack if the enemy gains attack any time before it dies so they cant trick it into attacking and then increasing its attack during the damage step or something. I think dreadroot can be powerful, because it "practically" doubles your monsters' attack. What was used to be a 1500 atk weakling now can beat over a 2900 atk monster.

If i remember correctly, Avatar was considered an ok tech in Frognarch decks. They easly could spit out 3 tributes and S/T stun with a body that virtualy could plow thru any monster made it kinda cute. Sure there were better cards to play instead, but it was playable.

So basically they never really got promoted in any way except for maybe one manga I think that probably not alot of people have read so far as I know. Part of why the Egyptian gods and Sacred beast got recognition I'm sure is because of their anime appearances.
