@neph ilim lol yeah I’m a Chelsea supporter but I’m afraid that Tuchel overachieving with this squad will lead to the club not giving Tuchel what he wants and needs to constantly go deep in CL and compete with city for the league. I hope the club realizes that even though he has gotten us to two finals that this squad is going to need a bit of a rebuild and it’s mostly due to how much money was wasted in last summer’s window. I rated ziyech, werner and havertz when they were all at their previous clubs but I don’t know what made the club think there was a way to get the best out of all of them on the pitch at the same time. Werner needs to play in a two up top and both havertz and ziyech basically need the attack to be built around them and they need to have the freedom to roam the final third as they please but none of that is possible if they’re all playing. I also think chilwell was nowhere near worth what we paid for him, if he wasn’t English his transfer fee would’ve been 20-30 million at most. So in the summer we’re going to have to sort out our attack, probably sign a cb due to thiago and azpi’s age and the inconsistency of zouma and christensen and we definitely need a defensive midfielder who can do everything jorginho can’t do and all of this is not going to be cheap or easy.

@neph ilim yeah I agree but to me there is a distinct difference in the way bayern and city have invested in their squads compared to barca and psg. Yes they all have good squads that are probably better than Chelsea’s but bayern and city sign players that they know can either fit their systems right away or have traits that these clubs know will allow them to grow into the player they need in the future and they rarely break the bank spending on one player. Meanwhile Barca and PSG have basically just thrown money at big players like Neymar, Mbappe, Griezmann, Dembele and Coutinho without really considering if they fit well together or how they will build the rest of the squad around them. PSG have been successful but ultimately have fallen short of their main goal they had in sight when they spent hundreds of millions on Mbappe and Neymar and Barca have pretty much ruined their chances of winning CL in the near future unless Fati turns into one of the best players in the world in the next two years or unless they are somehow able to sell Coutinho or Griezmann for big money and bring in a player who is better or better fits their style and can comfortably coexist with Messi. I’m afraid that Chelsea have fallen into the PSG/Barca way of signing players where we go for the biggest possible name we can get to sign rather than the player who might not be as hyped up but fits the squad better...
