ND fan here. That is not quite accurate. ND was up 35-21 entering the 4th but SC fought back and was driving to tie before ND got b2b pick sixes to ice it, SC then added a garbage time score to make it 49-35. I will add, however, that I don’t think SC puts up that many yards or points if ND is not coming off playing a triple option team the week before. Al Golden admitted the change of scheme and practice from triple option to air raid in a week was tricky and he didn’t make the adjustments in that time as well as he could’ve.

I just love all the predictions and snarky smart comments. These are both two very good teams. Ohio State loses to Michigan but then handles Oregon. No one predicted that. Notre Dame Loses to NUI but then wins out. PSU is certainly better than NUI, but that means nothing. PSU loses to Oregon in a solid game and then plays Ohio State and were yards from winning it but lost. None of that matters at this level. Somedays a team is just on and other days they are not. I would not be surprised if PSU gets blown out. I would not be surprised if Notre Dame gets blown out. I would not be surprised if it comes down to turnovers or who has the ball last. Both teams deserve to be where they are and one of the teams will edge the other out. Here is my snarky smart comment.....whichever teams makes less mistakes will win (mistakes define: fumble, interception, bad snap, blocked punt, shanked kick, dropped passes, stupid trick plays, missed field goals from under 45 yards).

That isn’t what happened. ND was called for TEN penalties in the game. Most came at critical times. Basically, if there was no penalty, they scored. If there was a penalty, the drive was killed. If that game was called a little differently, ND would have score another 10-14 points. And how about the facemask that wasn’t called (grabbed Leonard’s mask) that was immediately followed by a PI that wasn’t called? That killed a drive too.

Penn State's defense is in a different league. That's just the truth. Their offensive line is far better than Georgia's, their QB is a future top 5 pick, they have two of the best backs in the country, the best TE in the country.... There's a reason people trash the WRs. They simply don't have to rely on them nearly as much as a team like ND has. Drew Allar has matured a lot this season and is not afraid of tucking the ball and running when the pocket is collapsing. He has done it numerous times this season. Is he perfect? No, but he has progressed not just from last year but also from the start of this season. Also, understand that Penn State is a very, very resilient team. Numerous times this season, to include road games , they have dug themselves a hole in the first half and battled back in the second half to win. In the BIG 10 championship game against Oregon, Penn State dug themselves a huge hole, and Oregon had a commanding lead to start the game. In the second half, battled back to within a TD and simply ran out of time. In the Ohio State game, Penn State's defense held the Buckeyes to only 20 points. Late in that game, Penn State was on the goal line and wasn't able to punched it in to tie it up and lost by 7 points. Point being, they lost to both Ohio State and Oregon, both ranked in the top 5 by a total of two TDs. This is one game I would not bet on, let alone say without doubt who's going to win.

Penn state fans are very cocky right now, IU is better than SMU and Georgia is better than Boise state, both teams are very good but notre dame has experience and also played better teams and would be the more battle tested team at this point. Penn state has the ultimate playmaker in number 44 but Penn State doesn't have the same defense as Georgia, so it makes this an interesting game to pick.

Does UGA have better recievers than Penn State though? I dont think so. I guess its the difference between whether youd rather have recievers that can create seperation, but literally cannot catch the football once they do, or recievers that struggle mightily to get open, but at least catch the ball in the rare instances when they do lol. Pick your poison there, but i feel like both UGA and PSU have had equally underperforming WR rooms this season

Had to look it up because this had me curious. Tot recieveing yards this season: UGA 3,700 PSU 3,611. That's about as even as it gets. Did Notre Dame need overtime to beat USC?
@Aaron-yw7jiКүн бұрын
Wrong. Notre Dame Defense vs. Virginia - 172 yards PASSING, nearly ALL of those in GARBAGE TIME. LOOK AT THE BOX SCORE & SCORING DRIVES. Notre Dame Defense vs. Army, a TRIPLE OPTION team that isn't ran by ANY other FBS team besides Navy - 207 rushing yards, 92 of them coming on the LAST drive, ND up 49-7. Bryson Daily ran 38 TIMES for 145 yards. Notre Dame Defense vs. USC - This is fair. ND had to cover a mobile QB, & not Miller Moss. They could not key into the pass like PSU on Miller Moss. They still blew them out, & didn't need OT to win, along with Riley commiting 6 mistakes, nearly in a row, to destroy his teams chances at winning.
