I am totally NOT Old Money, Wealthy, or from a Wealthy background---I am a public servant. What I have learned to do as I have started to finally have a more comfortable income is to invest in what I buy. It doesn't even have to be from the top brands (example--I am not likely to buy a bespoke Zegna suit any time soon). I have found that there are great brands out there that have value, quality, and are affordable if you are willing to go just a bit above what you might think you should spend. For example--you can catch Allen Edmond shoes and a solid discount if you pay attention and they will last forever. I have had great luck with Beckett Simonon, but not all have. There are brands that bring quality, style, and value that are worth it if you want to be quiet with your fashion, have solid luxury items, and be able to also still invest and have savings. It kills me when you see everyone in these flashy designs. They need to learn to whisper and let their persona carry them.

Most of these point are very valid But Is it possible that old money people have learnt not to just follow others like the rest of us. Fashion for example is overrated and can often be very vulgar, and is it not always good value for money. You see fashion, be it clothes cars etc, comes and goes whilst good style last for ever. The fashion industry makes its money mostly from the don't haves who can not think for them selves, and have to follow the follower. I for one don't follow fashion, because like the old money people I don't like being ripped off. Most of what I see in fashion today is not good value for money, so when I want to dress up, which is very frequently I buy clothes that compliment me and the things that I can compliment. I refuse to get involved with fashion which simply invented the Emperors new clothes. I don't buy so called luxury, fashionable fast over engineered cars, with the latest fashionable gadgets that depreciate enormously, and are just like buying a speed boat for a swimming pool. Yes I am a wanker in the eyes of many because I do dress well and drive true luxurious old cars. I am a very practical person and my motto in life is. If I look richer than others it is only because I can not afford what they can.

@Starberson4 ай бұрын
Ok… Old money doesn’t wear luxury… So what!!! I personally come from old money and none of the people in the video are from old money. But that’s neither here or there. I don’t care about what other people are doing. I’m a fashion person and that’s where my personal wealth comes from. I can almost promise you that you will find me in flashy luxury. I worked for my money and I will spend it how I please. Its my style, my taste and my choice. So if you want to spend your time being like somebody else, go ahead. I’m definitely leaving some for the next generation. But I am also indeed a materialistic person. Also, you will never hear wealthy people making blanket statements like this and encouraging others to spend their money on the same types of things they spend their money on unless it’s an investment. It’s always broke people who like to tell others how wealthy people live their lives. The truth is that we all have that thing we like to splurge on. My dad likes cars. My brother likes guns. My uncle splurges on hats. I like fur coats! Nobody works that hard without enjoying the fruit of their labor, even old money. It’s a principle of taking care of yourself to make more money. That is some old money wisdom you should add to your video,
@OllieTattersall4 ай бұрын
This is spot on. One is not old money by their clothes, it is by their heritage. Anyone can dress old money, but they will still be new money underneath.
