OneShot has been getting alot more traction lately, which just makes me so happy. I went into oneshot blinder than a [INSERT THE BLINDEST ANIMAL], and my Hylia, this game really hit me like a bus. I even have some of the merch (Clover pendant, stickers, Niko pin, even the plush!), and I ordered the shirt a couple of days ago too. It'll take a while to arrive, but it'll be worth it. I've met so many of my best friends in this fandom, and it's honestly just amazing. One thing that truly bugs me about the fandom is the insane amount of rants about Niko art that are... you already know. Can't even search "Niko OneShot" on images without stumbling upon one of them. Sorry for the long comment btw lol

no worries i like reading lol, oneshot truly is a special game as as far as most game fandom goes the oneshot community is full of really passionate and down 2 earth ppl, the game really has a unique charm to it. I found the story and the moral delema very interesting and like how the game uses the 4th wall to tell it's story and drive it's gameplay this game deserves the attention it gets!

I'd like to mention that George (the Dice person) is the Head librarian. The Author is someone else. You never physically meet him but he does send you notes in the Tower. The Author always makes books that have a clover on the cover

For OneShot's second quest, it's certainly dark from an analytical perspective. You were dissatisfied with your ending and wanted more, so you selfishly brought Nico back to the world he wanted so badly to return home from. Yet he only vaguely remembers. You take him away from his family again, knowingly this time, for your own selfish desires fulfillable by your godly status in the world of OneShot.

The year it came out, a guy who has since left the internet put it as the best game of that year, refusing to show me more than the starting room and unlike every other game he showcased, all he would say about it is "Play OneShot". Being curious, I saw no other way forward than purchasing it and playing over the next few days. What a fucking experience it is to do blind, fantastic game.

I gotta disagree on the Solstice ending. As much as I get where you're coming from with the fact that it's "too happy", I believe the point of the Solstice ending is to give both the world and Niko an happy ending while still making the player feel like they lost. In the end, the only person who loses in Solstice is the player, they lost Niko, and the game spends its entire runtime making the player get attached to them, so attached, that once you finally have to say goodbye, it feels like you lost a real friend. At least that's what I felt. To be honest, Solstice was the ending that emotionally destroyed me the most, because it has this feeling of closure the other endings were lacking. It feels like everything that happens in Solstice is final, regardless of what happens, we can't go back. This is further reinforced by the Prototype mentioning how "This session might be the last one", and the fact we're told by the World Machine itself that we weren't supposed to be there. We got a second chance, and we're definitely not gonna get a third. The game makes sure we know that too, as after Solstice, the only way we can replay the game is by the WM playing a recording, we can play the game, but the desaturated colors of "Niko"'s sprites are a constant reminder that Niko's gone. Solstice is soul-crushing because you KNOW that's the final session. You know that at the end, you're saying your final goodbyes to Niko and you won't ever see them again after that. There is no real way to *get* a "third shot" without resetting your save, which is clearly not intended. Solstice is the one ending that gives me the genuine feeling of "One Shot". This is it. This is my last chance, and after I'm done, it'll all be over forever. Despite disagreeing, this is a great video and your editing is awesome! Thanks for covering this game, it's always great to see it get more attention

1- Is not that dark compared to others. 2- Currently, most people have played OneShot more than things like Yume Nikki, LISA: The Painful and Mogeko Castle (Oneshot now being console helps that). 3- Even tho is 14mns, some parts of the video feel repeated or unnecesary to this "game essay", but overral good work. 4- Also, don't pull a pyrocynical, trust me, there's better titles and thumbnails to sell your video. You could make it like: "The game about the ultimate sacrifice" or "Would you save Niko?" I know, spoilers, but I think it will generate more traction since people do know about oneshot and there's plenty of videos about the game journey itself more than about that "option". Just giving my feedback, looking forward to see more of your content! And also merry christmas :)
