Why only TIFA can be part of the LIFESTREAM SEQUENCE!!! | FFVII DISCUSSION

I really can't see how so many people want to replace Tifa in both of her peak moments thinking that her role could be done by any party member... it's almost an insult to her character to want to remove her development and closure. It shows a lack of understanding of both characters really I've also been seeing a lot of people thinking Tifa's role is fulfilled in rebirth from the lifestream sequence foreshadowing part 3, when it only showed Tifa her lost memory of her fall

I never get mad at takes, but the idea of removing her or adding anyone to this scene makes me lose my mind. Theres a reason why its only her and Cloud, it's so baffling. Rebirth showed us a glimpse of what this scene is going to be like and it made me even more excited for it! Tifa's role is def not fulfilled as Cloud's mind is still messed up in the end, like he literally says reunion at the end, that automatically tells you his mind is still not right. The idea for any of this is for some weird agenda people have to give other characters things that they dont need to make them important in part 3. This is Tifa's (and Cloud's) moment and no one can replace her.

I don't believe it's really that many people but they are loud. Also, SE has been pushing Tifa and Cloud so much more than in the OG, or a lot earlier at least. No way they are going to abandon that. Part 3 should be even heavier on Cloud and Tifa than the first 2 parts where.

Gongaga def was a precursor to the lifestream sequence that will happen in part 3 and I do believe it will only involve Tifa.

Like it or not, people are going to have to come to grips with the fact that Aerith and Zack are bit players in the story from here on. I do suspect we'll see them more than the OG game, where you basically never see her again until the very last cut scene, and only barely see Zack at all, but I don't expect a lot of them. It was mostly Cloud and Tifa's story from here on and considering how much more they have built up their relationship, I see part 3 being more of the same. I do like the idea of Aerith and Zack having some small part to play but not in the lifestream.

I think theyll play a part, but it would be similar to the way zacks role was in rebirth where we go to them for short scenes and leads to their reunion and maybe join the final fight, but who knows if they will.

Yeah replacing Tifa is the dumbest shit i've ever heard. I get that they could include Zack in the story a _bit_, maybe "memory" Zack is possessed by Zack from the lifestream and he turns to Cloud and Tifa and interacts with them. They already included the bridge scene and gave that moment to Tifa alone in a way to resolve the conflict that had been brewing between Tifa and Cloud, so i think we might get new scenes in than just Nibelheim and the water tower in part 3, or maybe they'll expand the "true" Nibelheim story, when Cloud comes to Tifa and how he beat Sephiroth, not just a few flashing moments as in the OG.

I think they'll def expand on the lifestream sequence and I for one hope they do. There are many things they can do and I know theyll handle it with great care. We already got a great preview of it and if its naything like that, I dont know if I'll be ready for the emotions!

I'm OK if we get a resolution similar to the OG, but I'm OK if Sephiroth's machinations change this sequence, so that her words really can't reach him anymore. Similar to the Aerith's death scene, it is too predictable to save or kill her, but both at the same time? Wow, no one saw that coming. I'm interested in the consequences and impact of the change. Sephiroth revealed himself in the premature Lifestream sequence. What is he up to? Will he succeed in severing their bond? We will see.

They can def play around with it in that way, as long as the main focus is fixing Cloud and giving Tifa her own character arc closure as well because of how their arcs are all focused around each other and what sephiroth did to them both.

I have never heard anyone seriously talk about "replacing" Tifa for the lifestream sequence outside of the shipping nutjobs. What I have heard many people talk about is how much the lifestream sequence is likely to be expanded and include additional characters. Which causes the shippers to lose their shit because they think it means "replacing" Tifa. I'm not even a shipper, but I'm near the point to where I hate Tifa's character because of the shipping community. Just leave their characters alone and stop making everything into a fucking war.

Even adding characters will harm the scene because of what Cloud says in the lifestream in the OG. "Tender memories that no one else can know." If you decide to add others, then they will see those memories that Cloud doesnt want anyone to see. Now expanding it is fine, but it has to make sense to what the scene represents for Cloud as its to find the real him. No one knows the real him except Tifa who is the closest to knowing him. Cloud only allows Tifa in bec he is okay with her seeing those memories bec they relate to her. Zack cant really help bec he doesnt know these memories to the full extent of the real Cloud. Even in crisis core, when Zack confronts Cloud about him liking Tifa, Cloud responds but doesnt nec talk about it because he doesnt want to tell him. Zack then simply implies that Cloud should talk it out with Tifa. To which he does when he pulls her into his subconscious in the OG. The lifestream sequence is more than just about shipping. It is a closure of two character arcs that need it. The others dont need those closures as they get them as you play through the story. In the end, only Cloud and Tifa dont get those closures until this sequence so adding anyone else just would make sense.

@@thetatheorem1554 I dont go do that stuff. Yes, I'm a shipper, but like I said before, this is more than a shipping moment or scenario. It's a scenario for both of their individual character arcs and integral to the story as the real cloud is needed to stop Sephiroth. This video was never meant to be about shipping, but the idea that anyone can replace or be added to this scene instead or along side Tifa doesnt work bec its more than that. Never once did I think of FFVII as a dating sim bec its not. It never was. There is absolutely nothing wrong with romance at all in any story, but this scene means more to the overall story than romance as its the scene that brings the real cloud out to go and put a stop to sephiroth and Jenova.

And they get really mad when they don't get their way or when Aerith receives attention. Just please don't harass the devs when Aerith returns in part 3.

Do I sometimes see things through a shipping lens, sure, but I personally have always viewed shipping as a fun thing and never the focal point of what I consume. For me its story, characters and then shipping. You don't have to believe me, but I just want to put that out there that at the end of the day, to me the story and characters matter most to me for any fiction I consume.

I feel at most Aerith in spirit form will accompany Tifa for parts of the journey to protect her mind while she's in the life stream. Maybe a special Cetra enchantment that will allow Tifa to spend time there without risk to her health. And the reason I know this could be possible is because Nojima has written a scenario like this before in a canon side story novel for FFVII where he showed Aerith's perspective after she had died and become a spirit in the life stream. But needless to say, I completely agree that it should be Tifa who saves Cloud here. It's easily her best character moment in the entire og game and she's the one who would know him the best out of anyone else in the party.

Besides, Benny himself said it was just his own interpretation, and no one from the og creative team was consulted. SE just wanted to make more money, so they commissioned Benny to write

@@RyanOstrowski-eh6ftwell technically he doesn’t need to know cloud as a kid to fulfilled the requirements to restore clouds memory. Zack was in nibelheim 5 years ago and knows the truth that cloud is forgetting. I still don’t see them putting anyone in the ls scene other than tifa. After the big foreshadowing in rebirth and tifa promising to save cloud, it’s pretty obvious that they’re gonna keep that scene with only cloud and tifa. After all it’s monumental for their development.
