@aantonop please make more videos on the Blockchain. Pros vs cons, current limitations, application use cases. I went to my first Blockchain conference at University of California, Irvine. Many speakers talked about how to use the Blockchain for many things (mobility, agriculture, voting) and even businesses spoke of how to use it. But I left conflicted because I hear you talk about it, then I hear others talk about it. I don't know what to believe, I will do my own research and make up my own mind, but I would appreciate a video from you that focuses on the Blockchain and it's applications more specifically.

"Money, the root of all evil, it's not the money that is dirty, it's the current architecture of money that is centralized..." You are half right but you forgot to mention it is the economic system that creates more inequality, strife and suffering in the world. It's ok Andrea keep going you'll realize it some day.
@user-DongJ6 жыл бұрын
Micky G ... Some believe it's not just the economic system but also the political system & the culture-language-beliefs that created greed, poverty, inequality, injustice, corruption, terrorism, violence, evil, megalomaniacs, etc. .... Just look at the news & history 😗
@user-DongJ6 жыл бұрын
lchpdmq ... Equality will be like hell? You mean like some kind of “heat death” whereby every stuff has the same temperature & the net energy transfer is zero? But money controlled by the most corrupt/dishonest/ruthless? U mean investors-experts like Jamie Dimon, Janet Yellen, Warren Buffet, Christine Lagarde, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Jordan Belfort & Joseph Stiglitz? So u think a “Star-trek/Shangri-La/Atlantis” like kind of economy-politics is just pure (deluded?) fantasy? Governments/rich must continue to enforce/increase tax/censorship/control of the people actions, diet, clothes, art, books, news, speech, thoughts, dreams, etc. to make people/society better/unequal?
@mickymtl6 жыл бұрын
"political system" I agree
@user-DongJ6 жыл бұрын
lchpdmq ... You got a very good point there. Thus far, some would say the closest “Star-Trek/Shangri-La/Atlantis” we have is Switzerland. Maybe we just have to continue to rely on evolution (or revolution?) & technology (or STEM?) to progress to a more just & fair state. 😋

Excellent ending. Money is a protocol for the human race. Not a product in itself. That's why Bitcoin emerged and so many are drawn to it, because people inherently know this. Yes you can make money from money or trading but the bigger Trojan horse is equality in global trade. The volatility will slow down as the greed from both the bulls going long and the bears going short. And then the only ups and downs will be effected by human population. Which is what money should represent.

Thank you so much for this! I have been trying to warn people about the threat posed by private blockchains, which companies and governments can use to try to take advantage of the technological revolution without the potential for social structure change that crypto introduces. Now I can see that I have nothing to fear, because though private blockchain doesn't need crypto, private blockchain is also shitty blockchain.

What I see as a problem is the distribution of BTC. Have you (@aantonop) thought of other possibilities on how we could achieve fairer btc distribution for humanity? Perhaps when mainstream adoption is established, Satoshi distributes to every individual on earth its share of BTC. But atm it's heading in a different and bourgeois direction, isn't it?
@user-DongJ6 жыл бұрын
Mirko Schwehr ... Even air, rain, food, warmth, love, truth, trust, sunlight, knowledge, justice, education, etc. is not evenly distributed ... If you have a great idea, why not created/invent/invest your own coin that solve this distribution problem ☺
@mirkoschwehr21196 жыл бұрын
陳Jet But you cant argue against bourgeois structures and your solution is establishing just another bourgeois system... With the words of Rousseau: you need citoyens!
@user-DongJ6 жыл бұрын
Mirko Schwehr .. I've not proposed any systems/structures yet but merely point out that many things are not evenly distributed & asked if you can build/make a better one (hopefully better than centralised communism). In your response, your definition of bourgeois seems too broad. For example, unless u are a perfect being like God, your definition would include you body as a bourgeois system/structure itself.

Is open source really free? I heard it wasn't necessarily as free as we think. If you think about encryption it's inherently closed to for the average joe hacker which could be a problem let's say if only a small group of people know how encrypted blockchains work because then that small group could in theory manipulate cryptocurrencies to their favor. I think maybe I need to learn more about how blockchains will work and evolve in the coming years. It would be awesome if aantops books were open source because I would like to truely under and overstand exactly how etherium and bitcoin and all these airdrop tokens make me a bit dizzy. I see money being like a battery in the future. Where we don't worry about price we just make sure we have enough of a charge to cover our expenses. I'm not a programmer obviously but I have some technical ability. Bitcoin is my hail mary. My faith in humanity. Our chance to create the kind of world we will be proud to bring children into. But in the back of my mind is riddled with questions and fears that we could be ushering in an Orwellian dystopian hell on earth. But I really don't think the doubt is justified. it's just remnants of my dna that have worked my fingers to the bone as my forefathers have only to be stripped and returned to the cancerous status quo system. On another note.. Hodl folks.. Stop shorting and selling for usd. We need to end our dependency on fiat war/blood/drug/petrol dollars.. I hope bitcoin drops some more so I can load up the truck. Cryto may be the realist money we will ever see folks

I'm sorry, but this is the first time I have to disagree with Andreas. Bitcoin runs on blockchain like html runs on web, not the other way around. Bitcoin is like the opensource web, say wikipedia, yes, but that is not the technology, the technology may be open or closed for better or worse. Being interested in the other applications of blockchain doesn't automatically mean you are a proprietary bank. Blockchain IS in fact that platform of trust, before blockchain we were not able to have truly trusless platform. Whatever you make on top of that platform is anyone's decision. I'm glad the platform was used to build new money system.
