Also, Personally I also think that OpTic knows that at the end of the season, they will for sure be getting Pred (for Huke) and I have a feeling that they were also going to try to get another stud young AR like Scrap or Sib. Therefore, I think they already knew they were going to drop Illey eventually anyways, so they made a smart decision by getting Ghosty because if he DOES work out, then they save money by not having to go throw the bag at an already proven stud like the two I mentioned, etc. If he doesn't, then oh well, they were more than likely going to drop Illey anyways, but at least they tried to do something risky, but smart. I said the EXACT same thing as Karma which was that this guy is either gonna come in and make everyone think this was the greatest risky roster move of all time, or he was flame out and OpTic will be roasted for years to come and it will also probably hurt future AM's hopes of getting called up.

This move seems so odd to me, t4 with the amount of mistakes they made doesn’t seem necessary. And to be honest I think our snd is going to tank without illey but on the flip side I think it could improve our respawn. And obviously they won’t drop ant or Bruce so it’s between illey and huke who both have either lackluster maps were they’re getting fried or they’re the ones doing the frying. They let the roster live for like 3 weeks and then got 4 at a major, yes Illey didn't slay the way he should of, but god damn did Shotzzy and Huke play like morons, they made the most mistakes that actually costed them games. you know what isnt mentioned in regards to both map 3 and map 4? map 3 when dashy is pushed up to gate inder backpedals like a coward and lets dashy get pinched. map 4 inder ended the game 1-10 in his last 10 lives. inder was in scrap time on p2 and with 5 secs left he gets picked by someone on plant headglitch. if he pushed top p4 after getting time he wouldve been able to watch tennis and ladder and top orange and they wouldve only needed 2 points. if these simple mistakes are the problem why isnt the IN GAME LEADER fixing them? theres a few options. either he has told them and they dont respect him because everytime they checked the scoreboard hes on the bottom, hes not properly communicating the problems which means his value as an igl is none. or he doesnt actually know how to fix them. either way if a player is incapable of slaying, making good individual plays, or properly leading his teammates then there is no reason for him to be on the team. the team has ran its course.

They wanna increase their ceiling first before they start building. I think how they look at it is: A team that plays at 100% but that 100% isn’t enough to beat faze, why bother. They would rather have a team that will play at 70% but with room to grow and most importantly a potential ceiling to match faze. Not saying Ghosty is that but nobody can deny that Illey and huke will never ever live up to shotzzy and definitely not a Dashy. They will never match an abezy, Simp or cell. You can give them a million years and the team can gel but if Faze is in shape they will beat that optic team. And that fact is apparently crushing for optic. Crushing enough to make changes.

I don’t agree. And from what I’ve heard, most of the pros don’t agree with this take either. IGL is an overblown thing that isn’t nearly as important as ppl make it out to be. Optic made some boneheaded plays that costed them. The whole league is talking about it. Guarantee they know what they did wrong. If ppl like me who’s never been a pro know exactly what they did wrong, then the optic guys certainly do as well. Reading the minimap isn’t rocket science.

I think the team is so different now that you can start again for Dashy, the only person left on the roster from the original decision is Shotzzy at this point. I think the bigger problem with inder is that after he got dropped the first time, he just looked like a shell of himself besides a series or two, i think dashy it lit a fire under him to come back and prove everyone wrong, but for inder it looked like it destroyed his confidents.

I think we are in a tough spot not only for optic, but for the entire league. There’s a shift in person where like the older more methodical players retire or „can’t keep up“ and young guns start their careers. I think the quality of the league will decrease in the short term, with increasing again in 2-4 seasons where the super cracked young guys like simp or shotzzy are roles reversed with what their dealing now.
