Mr Haque you are a rare breed in Pakistan in sense that you have guts to point out religion as root cause of all the pak problems.

Dear Intellectuals, please be truthful. Your problem is over religiousity. You are the silent and tacit supporters. Touch your heart and say you don't believe in Ghazwa e Hind..if not just shut whatever you claim... problem is Muhammad..m

Sir, there is a strong argument against long term planning because nothing is predictable in a long run so making such plans is a waste of people’s hard earned money resources on useless thing. People are wise to take best decisions so why not to just let them do whatever they like, and government just focus on cutting down expenditures and liberate everything.

Supply-side reforms are critical to increasing productivity, raising revenues and fostering a can do business environment that mobilises investment and exports.

Salman Shah is also like any other "expert": when I was the finance minister I did so well, But now its turned bad .. Chado janab... All the govts right from 1947 have been a complete failure... There was no vision and plan for Pakistan in 1947... neither it is there NOW... Dr Nadeem you are waging a useless war in economy... For last 77 years elite have screwed the nation And next 77 years WILL be the same... Only solution is Re Imagine Pakistan... Some indications were given in a 2018 book of Husain Haqqani..."Re imagining Pakistan Transforming a dysfunctional nuclear state"

Letter: Pakistan debt crisis creates own form of ‘state capture’ From Kaleem Mirza, London SW18, UK Yousuf Nazar is wrong to assert that an IMF bailout is needed to rescue the Pakistan economy (Opinion, January 31). In fact it could be argued that the IMF has exacerbated Pakistan’s economic difficulties, extending financial support without due regard for, and understanding of, Pakistan’s complex military-supported political economy. The IMF has been lending to Pakistan since 1958. Such borrowing has been enhanced by billions in soft loans from development finance institutions, overseas aid from western and Gulf Cooperation Council countries (often for geopolitical reasons) and commodity imports on deferred terms. As an economy, Pakistan remains addicted to aid and yet despite the billions received, the country teeters on the edge of a full-blown sovereign debt default. Pakistan is in a mess of its own making as it has failed to implement meaningful structural reforms. In fact, it could be argued that as a nuclear power but failing state, the country has uniquely implemented its own form of “economic capture” by continuing to be in receipt of foreign funds so that the country does not fall into the hands of non-state actors. A rotten nexus between the military, and the civil-bureaucratic and feudal-industrial elites has brought the country to the point of bankruptcy and none of these groups has any interest in implementing reform as they benefit from “state-sponsored elite capture”. Should Pakistan default, the geostrategic ramifications for a country which is nuclear armed and has a population of 230mn would obviously be considerable. Kaleem Mirza London SW18, UK

Salman Shah is praising Argentina so much...oh sir Melei has taken over 11 mths back... Annual inflation has come "down" to 200% (🤦) He has "reduced interest" rate to 35% ( 🤦) Poverty has gone up by 50%... Then he is taking example of China and Deng's reforms ..( a country with only one party) Sorry to say please take relevant examples comparable to Pakistan... otherwise its a useless gibberish not worth even a toilet paper...
