Why Palestine Supporters should not platform Candace Owens and why they don't 'not need Shaun King’

Professor Rudolph Ware, a historian specialising in anti-colonial and anti-slavery resistance movements, speaks about Palestinian liberation. He says that people like Candace Owens “legitimised state violence against black people” and that platforming her would be harmful to building common solidarity around Palestinian liberation. Ware adds that the pro-Palestine movement also does not need people like Shaun King who want to “benefit personally” or “monetize anything, at any time that has to do with our people’s liberation”.

There are white and black Muslims, and every color in between. South Asians are also not Arab, just as Iranians and Turks aren’t. Reminds me of when I was in the food coop one day -- a guy who had seen me having a conversation with someone approached me to advise me to not talk to that person because they have some strange ideas. Excuse me? Discourse is the way, the truth, and the light! I do not agree with anti-capitalist and "woke" progressives but I really appreciate what they are doing for Palestine and listen to many of their programs daily and see myself as being in solidarity on this issue. Yes we see this tactic all the time. Communists will literally but themselves in between two people to shut down conversations between someone on their side and anyone who comes with questions or attempting a reasonable exchange of ideas.
