If he can fill his frame out a bit without losing that burst the sky's the limit for him.

Like Shazier, maybe get up to 250

His speed is crazy. I know he’s a huge guy but he plays like a strong safety - good on blitz, open field tackles, can drop into coverage. High IQ. Reminds me of the old days with Troy. I hope he remains healthy. Real talent.

Payton was always a blue chip talent, he just fell in the draft because of his injury history

Payton is a beast! He's fast, smart, athletic, and consistent so far. He has to split some reps with ERob on run plays but that's fine. We have a great linebacker crew now with PQ, EROB, & Payton Wilson. Can't wait to watch how they finish this season! Let's GO!
@user-iq1ch1se3j2 күн бұрын
not just splitting reps, he's been steadily losing those run snaps entirely to Erob. I love Payton, but Erob is an ELITE run defender at ILB. As in he is rated number one according to PFF! The sky is the limit for Payton tho!

I came here to say this!! I’ve watched him his entire career at NC State. Really wish the Carolina Panthers had drafted him. Luke Kuechly evaluated Payton as a top pick.

As a defensive head, this breakdown is very appreciated cuz most folks only focus on plays made

Reminds me a lot of Shazier. Very unorthodox mvmt and angles, but knew with his quickness he would get there.

Payton has the potential to be what Ryan Shazier was turning into before his injury occurred based on athleticism, smarts and approach to the game. It’s crazy how it comes full circle, if I’m not mistaken I believe Shazier assisted in coaching the Middle LBs during camp this year as well.

Yo you got me. I thought the video was over and wasn’t paying attention. Out of no where.. Wilson. Peyton Wilson. Wilson. Wilson… I thought was trippin.
@floorsbychrisableКүн бұрын
On run defense at the line of scrimmage it seems as though sometimes he is preemptively jumping into the running back's cutback lane. Getting ahead of himself. And he def gets pushed around at times and gets too lateral to get thru blocks. But big ceiling and hopefully some weightroom work thru next season.

Peyton Wilson you're making a video about him but you're kind of underestimating a man you're kind of like throwing my buddy under the bus bro you can't be doing that you don't understand these are great players it's just painting Wilson is a one of the greatest one of the Hall of Fame you just don't even know it yet you just don't know I'm glad you're noticing but you don't know noticing and knowing is one thing and a different thing

What he get last game….15 snaps? His snap count is going down…not up…..soooooooooo
@junlee1715Күн бұрын
pretty sure this was just gameplan as roberts is better against the type of run that the commanders use
@mikecara8181Күн бұрын
@ Yeh, he’s not strong against the run
@sammybuckets2026Күн бұрын
Payton used to play almost every 3rd down which is considered a passing down. This week against the commanders I noticed elandon Roberts was staying in on 3rd and short. They definitely were committed to stopping the run. I anticipate a similar strategy against the ravens. That might change against the more pass heavy offenses
