I was born and raised in Canada. When I was a child in the 80s, it was a beautiful place. We all got along and everything was looking up. It's now a hellhole and only God could fix this. RIP old Canada, I'll miss you. I'm a typical white guy here, so that'll give you context.

I was born and raised in an actual hell hole. I moved to Canada a decade ago. I’m curious how widely travelled (internationally) you are… I bet your position on Canada being horrid is informed by the fact you haven’t seen how tough/nasty the world can be
@rothaarige3896

@FundiWaStima I've been all through the US, Italy, Germany, France. Canada is a hellhole due to affordability and multiculturalism.
@FundiWaStima
@FundiWaStima 10 ай бұрын
And you think going to US, Germany, Italy & France that makes you widely travelled? This right-wing “multicultural” immigration talking point always conveniently ignores shiploads of immigrants from Europe, and never mentions the true owners of the country, the native first nations. People with small minds judge people on skin colour/religion/gender (“multiculturalism”) and not on the strength of their character. A comment on youtube will, however, not change how you think unfortunately
@rothaarige3896
@rothaarige3896 10 ай бұрын
@FundiWaStima you simultaneously said "skin colour" isn't important while calling "right wing" talking points on immigration racist based on race. Also, native populations were conquered end of story. That's ancient history, along with slavery.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world.

I think it’s important to be intentional. I feel a lot of people come here without doing their research and the truth is if you do at least one search on KZbin on the down side of living in Canada or any western country really you will definitely find loneliness up there. So people really need to come up with a plan of intentionally mitigating this. There are lots of suggestions online even government funded programs exist to help this. It may not totally eradicate the loneliness but it will help. From my experience I have found that Africans especially can be so close minded. Office people or school mates will invite you to the pub you will say you are not going. Hunting you will say you are not doing. Things that these guys enjoy you won’t try them and then we’ll be expecting not to be lonely. We really need to do our research learn to adapt and be open minded! We need to just accept that these places are never going to be like our home countries but we can build a community to combat loneliness through intentional living.

I'm just saying, overseas if you work had gives u a life to manage with the salary I earn. Yes I'm not saying its not hard But ur basic needs, ur salary can definitely cover. Here in Nigeria, ur salary can't cover u as a person in a month, let alone those with kids. That's the problem over here You're free to relocate back home to Nigeria and taste it yourself too

@@FeyiMacYour guest said she went to the ER with a flu/cold. That's the problem, these symptoms crowd the ER, and you won't be told to go to your FD or a Walk in clinic or Urgent care, so you wait for hours. ER are for emergencies. Do you think with insurance you could go to the ER in the US with a cold. Your insurance would not cover your visit, because it's much cheaper to go to a Walk in. That ER visit is approximately $750.00 in Ontario.A Walk in is probably less than $100.00

Are you one of the dim-witted ones I referred to above? The country brings in far too many people than can ever hope to get a decent job. It must be the plan that half of them will just go back to where they came from after exhausting their life saving trying to settle here. And that's also why anything at mid-level - engineering, accounting, nursing pays maybe half of in the US. Salaries are not high elsewhere - they are low in Canada. The "Canadian experience" thing should tell you all you really need to know. If there weren't 100 applicants for ever opening, no one would bother asking for Canadian experience.

It took me 7 years to get into the system (preparing for equivalence examination, applying for residency program and complete my residency program). I was already a licensed medical doctor back home and I was already practicing medicine before moving to Canada. To be honest with you , immigrant lack of patience and many of us as soon as we relocate somewhere want to get things right away. The only thing that I don’t like in Canada is the winter and the fact that this country is not business friendly like in USA. I also have US citizen through marriage but Canada is better than US for medical practice. I can’t explain that here, It will be too long.

Hopefully I will be graduating as a physiotherapist this year, so with the Canadian system I can earn much more there than the UK too. But I don't see us staying there long term, I think we will invest our savings into a homestead in Zambia where people are welcoming and the sun doesn't hide for half the year.

Where is the impression of low cost of living/taxes in the US from? That is so far from the truth. One bedroom apartment can run you $3000+…. The only cheap areas of the US too like Wyoming, Montana are places no immigrant or American not indigenous to the place, wants to live there. Do your research better. Yes salaries are better for the exact same job in the US but it’s not cheaper in the desirable places like NY, Chicago, LA etc.
@FeyiMac
@FeyiMac 11 ай бұрын
We have done our research. We have compared prices. Look up average real estate prices-Canadian vs US. Your definition of desirable isn’t the same as ours. We don’t want to live in mega cities like LA or NYC, we know they are large cities and are expensive, even worse than Toronto. But we see house prices in cities and towns across Texas, Michigan, Ohio, even some parts of Georgia among many other options. And that’s what we’re saying, there are lots of options. Way more real estate value for the $. The median home price in Canada is about 50% higher than the median home price in the U.S and salary is still much higher in the US for the same role in our industries. We visit the US frequently, we have family there, we check out real estate there, have contemplated moving there based on feedback from many of our friends that have moved there from Canada. Trust me, we know the difference. Just from going to a store, an item you have for $5usd in the US can be marked up as high as $18cad plus 13% HST in Ontario, 15% in some other provinces. Only a couple of provinces have decent sales tax rates. Sometimes, I have to wait till I have a US trip planned to buy certain items because it makes no sense buying them here at the ridiculously high prices and high tax rate. Canadians drive across the US border to buy groceries and clothes at better prices. Canada is big on Oligopoly. Very few players control the market here. Not much room for strong competition to drive prices down. I could go on and on. Biggest of all is real estate. Look at the stats for average homes.

Infact whenever I travel to California from London, I always ask why was the travel so long? Only to find out I had to flyover Canada and I say "Oh! yes that nation in the north of the USA!😅 3) Lastly, Canada is soooooo cold especially dem places like NewFoundland and Northern Territories. Infact you are likely to encounter a brown or grizzly bear rummaging through your bin in Canada.😅

Maybe it’s also important to keep in mind that Healthcare is a leading cause of bankruptcy in the USA. There is plenty to say about the long wait to access public health care in Canada, but at least it is free (mostly) at the point of delivery. In the USA, it usual to get tons of bills after the fact. So yes, one will earn more, but if healthcare was ever a thing to consider (and it will be if one has children and seniors), then that earning potential starts to change into something else. Great video by the way.

For someone who has an opportunity to have a child in the US or Canada, which is better to choose (from citizenship benefit perspective)?

Canada is better in raising family. USA has more jobs and better economically. If USA gets involved with world conflicts, a draft may come back because it needs more soldiers. You need to earn good money to stay in a region with good school district. If you live in a poor neighborhood and send your children to a bad school district, your children are more likely to fail.

It depends on your lifestyle and the city you live in. I have earned close to minimum wage before and I was able to save but that was before all the inflation. Sharing accommodation is the major item that could help you save on minimum wage. It might be hard in the current economy but it’s doable.
