You should be able to use video to get your sample images. High quality, 4K, in a big view area should work in most cases and it would be a LOT faster and less prone to altering the scene you are trying to get photoscanned.

Substance designer now can process photoscan normal map in some degree but in controled environement light source, maybe i should buy a pro handy scanner to have accurancy, and finish the surfacing with a couple of polarised lens photo. but polygon is a realy good idea to speed up this painfull process of surfacing.

I have some questions I'm new to this stuff and I wanted some textures and models but I have no skill to make them and I've always wanted to make a video game and hopefully if I think what I've created is good put it up on steam for a fair price I hear mention of a subscription thing or something With that could I use these textures in a game that I am making profit from? I mean of course with full permission but even with said permission would that be frowned upon as I'm not creating my own textures? If I have to learn and make them myself I will but as of right now I'm a one man team and so I'd have to learn everything from coding to models and textures to story and even art by myself
@Radial9Gaming
@Radial9Gaming 7 жыл бұрын
Making your own textures is very difficulty and most of the time someone has done a better job. Big companies use already made textures as well. You are not supposed to do everything in a game by yourself, simply because it's way too much for one person to do. And yes, you can use these textures however you see fit. That's why you're paying for them.

is this possible in video games?
@DorfDork
@DorfDork 7 жыл бұрын
Yes but would not recommend. Video games tend to have a lot less polygons for maps and characters. Usually characters in next gen games are around 10,000 - 30,000 polygons. Maps which tend to have far less detail than characters on average are like that to save on loading times and taxing cpu/gpu performance. Running a map from this video onto a video game would most likely cause the game to not even load at all or cause extreme slowdown.
