100% agree. I came back into pokemon in 2020 after playing pokemon shield. even though I haven't played pokemon game since gen 4 at that time, it was oddly comforting to play the games again. then years later, I discovered the pokemon twitch community, Legends Arceus & Scarlett/Violet released, and they became some of my favorite video games ever. truly glad I came back into pokemon, cuz it would be hard to imagine my life without it 🖤🧡

My first Pokémon game was Red way back in the day, i dropped it after GS for a few years but then Fire Red and Leaf Green came out, played then and since then I've been a life long fan. I look back to my first playthrough of FRLG with such fondness.

Emerald was also my first pokemon game. Middle school, my family and I were in extreme poverty so no shot I was getting any pokemon game. But one fateful day a gangster dude just gave me a copy of pokemon emerald without a sticker, and it had all the starters and legendaries. Why'd he just give me the game? Was he too embarrassed to be caught holding it? Was it pity because he saw me as the most pitiful timid kid in the school? I can only speculate. I'll never truly know why he did it.

I remember being 10 and not having money bc duh I’m a kid 😭 I played Pokemon brick bronze in Roblox. (Fan made Pokemon game). That was my first ever Pokemon and I really loved it. Fast forward I’m 18 and I’ve played throughout every mainline Pokemon game and still love it.

My first Pokemon game is also my first video game in general. In 2006, I got a Gameboy Advance SP with Pokemon Sapphire to help keep me occupied during a long roadtrip. I ended up losing the game during a house move, but I vividly remember the fact that I had a level 100 Blaziken and a level 100 Volbeat as my main aces. I had also maxed out the time log. I've been a gamer ever since.

WE ARE THE SAME MY BOI!!! Ruby & Sapphire. Lost Sapphire but then gain the wonderful Emerald and up to this day. Love Pokémon so much it makes no sense..but also I wanna be the best vgc player with an ace of mine. ✌🏾

my memory might be fuzzy but my first ever experience with Pokémon was also on the GBA albeit with Leaf Green as my main did mingle with RSE a bit during those early days along with some Gen 1 and Gen 2 games because my father hauled a lot of Gameboy games from his old job (he worked at a thrift store) at some point gotta love 08 to 12

My first pokemon games was XY, it's funny since I watched the anime but never knew about the games since I never saw any of the trailers for any of the previous games prior to XY

My first Pokemon game was a copy of Red that my brother traded a classmate for for blue. Like we originally had a copy of Blue but my twin brother traded it for Pokemon Red so we erased a kid's save file and worked together to get thru the game. But it wasn't until our 9th birthday that i finally got my own game, Pokemon Yellow and by that time, me and my twin bro were at the elite four (He kept the lapras i wanted on the team) and he waited until i got thru Pokemon Yellow a few months later to battle.

loved it my whole life I just wish we had more mature content for the adults who grew up with it. we are still the main fans and no matter if pokemon gains new people pokemania started because of us pokemon is what it is because of us. I just feel like the franchise doesnt give us the love we give it in return. we are adults now i dont have to beg mom for a 30 dollar game I can go out buy a new system buy both copies and the 3rd super copy of the current gen if I want to when I want to. some of us pay 100+ dollars for old games and merch it would just be nice if they put more effort into us.

Pokemon main games came from a different era with different limitations. Turn based combat just doesn't impress anymore. And adult's have money and cars and no curfues so things like plushes and mobile games that require travel all night just makes more sense for adults.
