I think during those Covid lockdowns people realized what they missed in terms of socializing. I took a lot of things for granted before the forced isolation. Never again! Now I go out to a lot more gatherings than I did before 2020. Live poker included.

🎉 Alec the OG creator Poker traverses both language and geography to a place where you can sit down at a card room anywhere in the world and play a game you love in a social environment. As humans continue in their unending battle with isolation, the value of an open seat will continue to grow far beyond what can be won in the game.

Another logical and reasonable take from the poker goat. Thanks for always showing effort to those that you inspire.

The local casinos in Sweden are closing down their operations. A few years ago, Sweden had four casinos, soon there will be only one left, Stockholm. Last week it was decided that two casinos would close soon. But poker is alive and well. More and more underground poker clubs are opening. I played in a casino two days ago and both players and employees expressed their dissatisfaction with the management. People are not coming to the casino because of poorly managed casino.

Poker Is Absolutely Booming In Chicago!

Poker was dying before the pandemic, the number of rooms and tables everywhere in the US was declining. Then the pandemic hit and two things happened. Firstly, people were stuck at home and started watching more poker vloggers on KZbin. I had lost interest in the game and KZbin recommended I watch a Brad Owen vlog. I was hooked. Now I follow more than a half dozen vloggers. The second thing that happened is that a lot of people received government stimulus and saved that money because they couldnt go out, so when the pandemic was no longer an issue, these people were flushed with cash and had the urge to play live poker.

Of the one "improvement" I believe it can be tweaked bc I simply do NOT like it and it has basically been followed for every poker tourney out there. And that is the Big Bland Ante!!! Trust me, I get the benefit of time and fairness but I believe the better option is to have the structure SB/BB1/BB2 with BB2 technically being the "ANTE" instead of the current industry-accepted format of SB/BB+ANTE... Firstly, I prefer more skill than luck and when the BIG BLIND also has to pay the ANTE he has a huge incentive just to shove to protect the good percentage of his chip stack going into the pot. Secondly, it will create more action with more players in a hand who are not just waiting for the first opportunity to shove just for the mere fact the BIG BLIND is coming, rather than just being able to play the game of poker "unforced", if you will... Any thoughts?

Ugh. Poker didn’t have a negative stigma in the early 1980s either. Maybe if you are talking about doing it professionally, but socially it was quite fine.

Definitely a distinction between playing and doing it full time, yes.
