I’ve seen a theory saying that they where using the orphans in their experiments, but at one point they could no longer get any orphans, so they promoted the factory tours to kidnap people, they might have used adult souls for larger creations such as Huggy, also, i don’t think Stela is as innocent as she seems, the way she talks about age and growing up is creepy and ominous.

I think you’re right about Huggy leading us on. When he first appeared he slowly chases after us (doesn’t even attempt to grab you unless you’re stupidly close). He only changes speed once in the vents to urge us to the poppy flower.

I watched a theory that the protagonist themselves are the missing 1006 experiment. If you pay attention closely you can hear huggy attacking people and the scientist clearly states that 1006 has no relation to this event. He also says that 1006 has additional skill sets plus the ones of his other toys, so he is far more intelligent than the others and most likely escaped and came back to help after receiving the vhs and the letter. The protagonist's height also is unusually short and needs the grabbing device for tasks that should be simple for regular humans. I hope this helps :) just want to add one more additional comment about this theory that if you watch the play through you can hear the cracking noise when you take fall damage... it makes the sound of a toy breaking rather than human bones. yes I get that I misheard the no relation lol but my theory still works because this all could be in result of the missing protagonist toy. huggy wuggy is not missing he is clearly there. oh and thanks for the likes I've never had more than 2 before 🥲

I just noticed a small detail about Poppy. It’s about her voice. I mean, pay attention to her voice in the VHS recording at the beginning of the game. It can be because her voice most likely comes out of a some type of speaker and the whole video is on VHS, *but* compare it to the voice the protagonist hears at the end of the chapter. The first one sounds like a young girl, but the second one... like an adult woman. So... what if Poppy actually was a first toy, that indeed became self-aware but also one of the experiments? She is contained in a secure location because of the incident with 1-0-0-6. I mean the guy in the last tape clearly said that *future experiments* need to be contained in a secure location, which is the hidden room the protagonist enters.

It’s Stella. Stella wanted to please children, and she also didn’t like dying, so she wanted to become a toy and haver herself up for the experiments. This is why poppy is the perfect toy, because Stella wanted to become a toy so she was a good one. However, the person turned into huggy didn’t wanna become a toy. This is why huggy was evil and killed for fun. Btw, there’s 5 other evil toys that were meant to be good but the people made into them didn’t wanna become toys, so they’re evil. Huggy is the 6th one. Also, Stella liked being a tog but didn’t like the idea of being locked up in a cage, that’s why she was relieved at the end that she was left out of the cage.

I did have a theory concerning the player deaths. Perhaps Poppy brings back the player as yet another toy in order to continue the agenda. It could explain why the messages look like old TV, as that may be how the toys see the world. If so, the player may have already lost and is now stuck under Poppy’s influence. Maybe, the only way to truly beat her, and get the game’s true ending, is to make it through the story without dying once.

Here’s a theory: I think “rich” or a toy version of rich sent the letter. The reason being that the letter is misspelled. If you listen to the audio where he’s complaining about the boxes, he mispronounces a word and questions if it’s an actual word. Now, in the letter, the word “disappeared” is incorrect. It’s just a strange thing to add rich questioning the word at the end of the audio that maybe didn’t need to be added unless for a specific reason, and seems like maybe he has an issue with spelling or communication. Just a thought.

I think its possible that huggy wuggy was made to fend of anyone from finding poppy as if he was some sort of defence system to prevent poppy from breaking free, but when some of the scientists entered the poppy door it took action doing what it was programed to do killing them all. What it was trying to do was taking any means necessary to stop you from opening the door. It possible that he could make a return in the future chapters, we might even be able to encounter the pink one as well.

I have another theory; Poppy Playtime's workers, were, yes, turned into toys, but why and how did our player get in to Poppy Playtime? It's possible we're a toy or an inhumane creature, but maybe a surviving worker. As you can see at the start, it seems as if Huggy is helping us getting us the key, but as we go towards the Poppy, it's' as if he suddenly triggers a security system that kills every person (including employees) that come. Maybe it was supposed to recognise the employees, and that's what failed? It's possible the true purpose of Huggy Wuggy was security, as the first tape had warned us. Huggy wanted to help, but something inside triggered it. In the note telling us to go to the Poppy, though, there are errors, and usually an adult knows grammar. Does this imply that the dolls wrote this, since they came alive and they've not an idea on grammar? What if all the toys are security, and they lure us in? It could be Poppy manipulated us into opening the case, it's possible Poppy made all the toys write that note and play along. And maybe she's planning to take over humans. For the death is permanent, maybe Poppy has weird technological powers to bring back the dead, and is keeping us alive so we can get her out. They might have killed the employees because they'd figured that out and have locked her up. In the scientist's tape, it says Huggy Wuggy has caused problems in the facility, and concludes that the employees have no idea, which is one of my reasons of this theory. The only person who would know how Huggy Wuggy does this was the creator / person who made Huggy Wuggy, considering they built the toy's skills. This also proves my theory on the security. But does this mean the creator of Playtime Co is cooperating with an evil source? See at 11:03 the red thing? That could be a stone with powers to make something come alive. This could be why Huggy Wuggy has an anatomy. What if he'd obtained the evil source, and that's how he's built the toys? Maybe the creator is controlling these toys? I'll update you when the next chapter is up. Edit; wait what if they're real creatures not toys like animals from another planet, cause they got anatomy (pls make this an AU)

I don't think Poppy was controlling anyone, if she could control Huggy Wuggy then why didn't she just use Huggy Wuggy to free herself? She wasn't under lock and key she was behind two very openable doors, I think it's more likely that her case wasn't keeping her locked up but keeping her asleep. Actually, "Tericho" proved that experiment 1006 actually ISN'T Huggy with one incredibly obvious piece of evidence - they said he was missing, but you can clearly hear what's probably him killing people in the background. Doesn't sound so missing to me. He thinks that, in a massive twist, experiment 1006 is actually YOU. He thinks the entire staff team was turned into toys, and as you were an ex-employee, you could've been turned into a toy too. Maybe you went missing during experimentation.

"One break through and I'll be back " - (the guy from the tape) I wonder what toy he became. I believe Stella is poppy with her obsession of wanting to live forever, she made strides in making herself an immortal doll poppy able to to speak to children, playing forever. The workers and company were so astounded by her findings that they decided to replicate the experiment using their own employees on different types of toys made in the factory. Their experiments caught the attention of scientists and since the toy company was successful they had a steady stream of money to support an underground lab for such things. The doll maybe in charge or able to connect with other toys and was sealed for her bad behavior in the box. The ex employee looking for answers unleashed poppy and Huggee was the guardian stopping intruders from unleashing the one who possibly wrote the letter to escape was The Prototype Arm claw thing. That is just my theory on the matter.

I really like this theory, and it makes me wonder if it’s possible that stella/poppy was locked up because she came to regret her transformation and tried to stop the scientists who started taking it too far and transforming victims against their will. maybe she herself experienced horrible side effects and predicted that future experiments like huggy would end up completely berserk and she wanted to end it before they went too far. this could also explain why she and huggy are acquainted, she feels the pain of the person who became huggy and together the toys are just trying to end the cycle. it could also be the reason that poppy is seemingly unconcerned over the presumed death of huggy, because she knows that huggy’s existence was painful and he just wanted to be free from it. I think the fact that poppy’s cage was so easily opened might also hint more towards her being locked up to get her out of the way rather than being locked up because she’s dangerous! it would still make sense that the scientists make it so hard to get to her and try to discourage us from entering the flower. they could be worried that poppy will expose the dark secrets of their facility, so she’s hidden away in the depths of the building.

Theory: The mc is a human/doll hybrid meant to blend in and was present during the 1006 event. I also think that 1006 is either a hive mind working for poppy like in the video or is actually a part of the security system. The factory is shut down, workers haven't been seen in years. The mc being a toy explains why 1006 doesnt attack off the rip, but explains why he chases us later in the game. If 1006 simply mistook us for a toy at first but figured out we didnt belong due to our tampering then it simply got aggro and tried to do its job.

Well, basically my theory is the fact that every employee was turned into toys, all the organs and stuff were transferred from the employees into the toys as experiments, including poppy, huggy, and probably some other toys, which is why some toys like boogie bot on the desk on the begining, had blood, (which explains why poppy's eyes are realistic too, they were transferred From the actor to the doll as well as organs and brain)and huggy, and thing is, "I wish I can go back to being a kid" I think that all employees including (poppy's actor I kinda forgot her name..) were participating in the human to toy transformation, so they could be kids again, like (poppy's actor idk her name sorry). And the sentence, "everyone thinks the employees disappeared 10 years ago.." is because the employees are still there, but, well, their toys. Cat bee Bron boogie bot and all, but they don't really have control, of the toys. Only poppy has control, (I haven't gone into why yet. But will be added in soon) and she was put into deep sleep to not tell anyone on what had actually happened, and the thing that organs were transferred into the toys from the employees and all, I think their brains had been transferred into the toys, too. Which means they could have a mind of their own, huggy is probably finding for revenge on the scientists, the other toys, just practically dead. And poppy's mind and memories were probably transferred into the doll, which is why she remembers what could've happened and was remained sealed for the secret to not be spilled. This is just my theory. I am not saying it's true or anything

Play co intentionally creates such a mess in its adoptions and people cant keep up so children slip through the cracks.

MUCH easier to handle and hide if the majority of adoptions do go through and only a small amount of them get used as test subjects. Small is always easier to hide then large so chances are good if the children in adoption were being used as test subjects most of the adoptions were real and only a small carefully spread out few were fake.

I actually have an idea on why huggy attacks if the being controlled theory isn't true but the having been an employee at one point theory is, perhaps it's all in a moment of fear, almost like a person attacking because they reminded them of a bad event. Since huggy does seem to help up until we build a toy, perhaps that triggered something in whatever employee was controlling huggy wuggy and led them to believe the protagonist was someone who was continuing the experiments so he attacked out of fear and rage, similar to how someone who held a grudge against someone who abused them in the past May sometimes try and hurt the abuser out of fear. And maybe other employees turned toy had different responses afterwards, some took advantage and attacked employees that weren't turned and others like huggy wuggy and poppy stayed dormant and only attacked during certain circumstances or certain people, since it isn't confirmed if it was huggy who killed all the employees if there are multiple people subjected to the experiments

I might be looking too deep into it, but I found it interesting how Stella mentioned trees of all things living longer than people. Why not animals like the immortal jellyfish or even the average lifespans of dinosaurs and some shark species. I know animals and facts like this weren't learned until decades later in reality, but if the game's story has science fiction to bringing toys alive, I can suspend my disbelief that maybe this kind of info could be known when Stella was alive. It makes me think it's foreshadowing that there will be some kind of tree involved with this science, but I am sure I'm overthinking it.

There was one thing I questioned when it came to the layout of the building: The sheer depth and height of the floor and ceiling. In normal business standards, this is obviously inefficient and more than likely will be explained away, but you throw in the last section where everything seems to be a bit too big for us if we were a normal human height and I think we're more than merely a former employee. I think we're one of these toys as a soul trying to get back. If your theory is indeed true, perhaps the toy (the player) is coming back home?

based on the theory you gave, it seems similar to batim- it has very similar concepts shown in the game (which to me is pretty good cause that was my favorite game for awhile). i believe that these monsters are experiments (either human or just ones made in a lab) that somehow got mistreated or had some murderous intentions. they wanted to get revenge on anyone that worked there because they feel wronged or angry at, most likely, their captors/creators. this holds up because the tour prices for the factory (something you didn’t mention but i digress) are super cheap for a company as popular and/or well-known as playtime co. in fact, it’s cheaper than the actual poppy toy itself. so why is this to be??? well they had to feed the experiments somehow

The letter at the start of the game isn’t spelled right at “ wer’e “ and “dissappeared”so I think they used the orphans and not the workers, since poppy lured mc there as the letter said that the employees were there in the poppy door but all that happened was that poppy was freed. There's one thing which contradicts this theory, being the death itself. Huggy is trying to stop you, by killing you. I have this little theory about huggy. In the beginning we are told about different security systems, and I think that Huggy is one of them, but maybe not always intended to be one. Also, there is a rule on a poster saying something like "no staying past 8pm" I have a feeling that FNAF style, huggy actives around those times. Also, why huggy bleeds when hit? I have a feeling that he has some human body parts in it, and that blood is from long gone corpses, just oozing out. After watching the full video: Yeah, SHB theory might make more sense... :D

If the huggy we faced was a ,,prototype'' specifically experiment 1006(who was labeled as a prototype) means that huggy didn't have something the finished product would have, my guess a human soul. The huggy wuggy we faced (dont know if there are more) in all definition is a monster by the fact how it grins, when it chases us and ,,laughs'' in its kill animation. It also went on a rampage killing innocent employees, which an human turned creature wouldn't unless it was controlled. HOWEVER this seems not to be the case with Huggy Wuggy. Poppy being in the case, being asleep couldn't control huggy, while she was trapped in the case. Think about that part logically if poppy could control the monsters from that case she was in it wouldn'T any sense, why she would wait for the protagonist to specifically arive, when literally any other monster in that facility could have done the same job. I mean sure some doors were blocked in her room, but you didn't need to specifically be human to well open her case. There is an contradiction, which i set up however if huggy was a souless monster, which kills for fun why didnt he kills us, while we were with him? Huggy isn't just a soulles monster, it is intelligent. When we finally confront him in his true nature at the toymaking machine, we are literally trapped, you can't escape him basically. That room was a deathtrap the only exit was where huggy appeared, basically trapping us with him. Now why would he specifically lure us to the machine itself and not just kill us at any other part of the chapter ? An behavouir with certain animals mostly cats demonstrate them playing with their prey, letting them suffer. Which also seems to be the case. He is again a soulless monster, who enjoys killing. Having the prey despair etc. would certainly make him happy/ driving his thirst for death even more. Lastly dont forget huggy probaly didnt kill anyone in ages considering the dried bloodstains, so why not have fun with the new prey appearing ?

Theory: Ludwig (The Founder of Playtime) is the mad man. The video says that they mascot are living humans, and that the purpose of doing all of is; because he lost his daughter who loved dolls, so in her memory made this company but it wasn't enough for him. My Theory: I'm thinking that the note where the protagonist received was from Poppy to bait us so we can open her case. In the Make-A-Friend room, when you press the button (the Power On button), you can see the eyes of the red maker machine which is following you. Everywhere you walk, the eyes always follows you. That's probably because Poppy is watching you. In the VHS Tape (the interview one), where Stella says "Sometimes I wish I could go back... to being a kid", she's saying it because's gonna turn into a doll (maybe) and the voice of Poppy and Stella are the same. Which makes me think that Stella is trapped in Poppy's body and became a doll. Maybe Poppy baited us to open her case because she wants to get revenge from the guy who did this? I also think that she's gonna get revenge from the scientist. In my opinion, I think Huggy Wuggy is the Guardian of Poppy which guards the case from intruders and Huggy Wuggy is the security guy thingy that patrols the area from trespassers. That's all bye 🙂

I noticed that at the end just before meeting Poppy you can see a blue door behind the large cupboard. Idk if you can move the cupboard and enter the door right now but perhaps that is where you go in chapter 2, for example, something could shakes the building and knocks the cupboard over to prevent you from going back through the main entrance leaving you no choice but to go through that door (perhaps Poppy is manipulating the path you take to her advantage).

Theory: Huggy Wuggy is stuffed with a child. It sounds crazy, however note as he falls to his death he bleeds. Why is a toy bleeding? What if Huggy Wuggy was designed to bring children back to life, however something went wrong and they would target every employee they see. Another thing to note is that when he kills you, the camera is thrust toward his mouth, almost as if he eats you. What if he is just a reanimated toy (with some kind of organic connection), but when he malfunctioned, he started eating everyone, and if people (sometimes maybe even teens who stumble across the property and explore it) were to keep getting eaten, that could be why he bleeds when he falls. This could also explain why there's blood everywhere, but bodies are nowhere to be found.

A lot of great thinking and reasoning here, and it mostly makes sense, save for one issue though: If Poppy is indeed calling the shots and manipulating Huggy to drive the player toward her beneath the factory, then wouldn't she have disabled Huggy's ability to kill? After all, Huggy's quite dangerous and he takes out the player if he gets too close, which would foil Poppy's plan in this conception of it.

There was a detail that I believe that you and possibly everyone missed while playing the game. In the area where w are first introduced to Huggy Wuggy we are introduced to 2 gates, one of them need to unlock with just one hand and leads to the storage facility and the red hand, however there was another one that required 2 hands, so maybe if, after you get the red hand, head back to that area and open that gate. I'm just curious to what is in there, maybe something that proves or disproves your theory.

What sold it for me was when huggy first showed up and started chasing you he just slowly walked, and the vent that leads to poppy opens. As we can see when he chases you through the vents, he can move at a rather fast pace, so if he was truly trying to kill you he would have killed you from the very beginning or when he first came out of that door in the make a toy room.
