Human fertilizer is still done in a lot of places, and it’s a large vector for things like salmonella. Which is kind of fitting for this episode.

No, it isn't. STOP spreading false facts. Human fertilizer is good for the environment, far better and more useful than being put in a box or burnt to ashes. At least as a fertilizer, you can be of use to nature.

Here in the Netherlands we use Cow or Pig fertilizer mainly due to the amount of cows here... i dont mind the smell due to it being there since i grew up and isnt there all year long but only during certain times of the year

another mind-blowing fact - strawberry is a relatively modern invention as well. Iirc it was created around XVIII century by French botanist. Another one is that carrots are not naturally orange - Dutch have breed it for that colour to celebrate their ruler

I'm not a farm kinda guy, but i'm a countryside guy and their lack of tolerance of piles of shit is odd. Like, when i was a kid i went shit hunting in the pastures to keep up my backyard garden, and if i had to uwe the bathroom and it was occupied there was always a shovel somewhere near the garden

"Corn" or "korn" is just the germanic (western European) word for the most common grain. In a lot of Europe you will see barley being referred to as corn. It used to be more useful as a term in that the most common was the cheapest so if you just needed something for eg animal feed you could just ask for that and the merchant would give you the cheapest stuff they had.

I thought this video was going to be about how there was no such thing as preservation for fruits and veggies back then, only meat seemed to have a shelf-life, but only if you sipped in salt for curing, dried in the sun for jerky, or froze it if you lived up north. I think the first kind of preservation for fruits and stuff like that were the fruit cellars, but I could be wrong.

The Listeria issue that happened in 2004 was because there are fertilizers still made with this, and a failure in the sterilization process.

Maybe because Maiz is the spanish word. You know, since we spaniards explored america and adopted it from the natives, and Philippines used to be part of spain and speak spanish so that explains that part also.
