Why PURPLE CRYING may be MISLEADING! (Not a huge fan!)

My daughter at 10 months old cried for 24hours with little rest in between. Took her to the hospital and she had pneumonia :(. I’m glad I listened to my gut and knew something wasn’t right and seemed medical help.

My baby has been crying since we arrived from hospital I also was told is normal and that it is purple crying period. i do still feel nervious about itr😢

Hi there - and sorry about the delayed response. When in doubt, listen to what your gut is telling you. Purple crying annoys me a bit as I feel its a bit of a "well... we know its nothing too serious so it can't be too much of a problem lets just give it time". Babies can cry because of discomfort - how was your birthing?

I wish I could do more for you but I'm sorry I can't provide techniques or methods on how to correct what is going on as every person is so unique it would be almost negligent to provide it! If you are concerned, raise your concerns with a local health professional and see if there is a musculoskeletal therapist who may be able to provide further input. If your baby needs cosmetic surgery, I would definitely be discussing these questions with the surgeon. I don't perform surgery so I'm sorry again but I couldn't answer you with confidence!
