Why Queen of Pain Rushes Dagon in 7.36c Dota 2
Though not the best midlane hero, Queen of Pain's latest Masochist facet is incredibly powerful, so long as you buy a Dagon to off-set the health cost. While a lot of current midlaners are finding ways to both win their lane and flash-farm jungle camps when pushed, Queen of Pain takes a backseat to harassing the lane and aims to hit her items fast and farm even faster with max Scream of Pain and Blink. This makes her timing of opportunities to gank the side-lanes are the most necessary to successfully push into the late-game with a sufficient amount of a networth lead. Simple put, Queen of Pain is a viable midlaner and this is how you do it.

Super helpful video Torte! The part at the end that explains the need (or not) to curb your opponent’s midlane is so helpful for thinking about choosing facet and (initial) build during the strategy time of the picking phase.

As a QoP main, this is how I've been playing her since I foundout the masochist facet. About the Q, to be honest, sometimes I forget that it existed (ever since they removed the healing). LOL

Yeah, I saw dota protracker and 100% builds use dagon as first item. But I'm not really sure why QoP's attack range and speed being ignored, I prefer build: PT, Orchid, Voodoo Mask, witch blade, BKB, Kaya and Sange, Parasma, Bloodthorn, Revenants Brooch. It deals massive DMG at late game, and pretty good at mid game. It also increases your farm speed. But in this build there is a massive downside, orchid is trash item in a lot of games, because it is easily dispellable. But today I had 5 win streak with 15/3/13 kda average at 5k+ MMR in Europe. It is probably not dead build.

I haven't played dota much since the new big patch especially because I felt like my fav heroes were straight up nerfed or reworked into oblivion like Tinker ... fuck.. Do you recommend just basic dagon lvl 1 or having some upgrades to it before other items?

On my games, I suggest level it up until 3 but if you're doing really well, rush it to 5 then go for Kaya/Sange.

Just lvl 1. Arcane boot, dagon. Then build this 4 item, sequence depend on game : agha, kaya sange, bkb, shiva.

What if we keep the voodoo mask and upgrade it to bloodstone later? Aoe in late game is insane, you have wider 3rd , more area of 1st skill after scepter , and more area of silencing if you got shard…

My playing pos is 3 and I wanna try pos3 qop but kinda afraid to get flames by my teammates at 4.4k rank as they all seem to be arrogant and toxic as fuck as if they won multiple TIs in a row lol. Also my behaviour score is 12k and still suffering from those ruiners, afk players etc

Don't play QoP Pos 3, it's very bad and will get destroyed. Play her Pos 2 as she wants levels very quickly to be able to go gank. I feel like a lot of players are scared about mid and I'm like this close to creating a video tutorial on how to play mid really simply.
