RBI is buying gold to increase our forex reserves as the value of gold doesn’t change much and hence doesn’t get affected due to change in the value of dollar. It’s not dedollarization as it will impact GDP negatively

RBI should have started it long back ago. Better to have more Gold as reserve since it's a neutral asset rather than some paper currencies. Not a good idea to keep gold in some other central banks. Fiat currencies are losing value, their purchasing power is going down, so gold is the best bet.
