It's crazy to see how far havoc has come man. I met this guy on xbox in 2018 when his name was "heart breaker" but misspelt with no "e"s and this guy has always been a reaper player. It felt only just recently that he was with my group of friends in shitty diamond elo in 2020 when we were finally on pc with the worst internet possible playing with us in NA. and then all of a sudden in 2021 this guy just Flicks a switch. Reaper has been a VERY underrated DPS hero since the launch of OW2. There is always a way into the backline in a solo-tank 5v5 format. Reaper's ult gets guaranteed value after baiting only one or two cooldowns from the other team. His wraithform is arguably the strongest escape ability in the game, with the versatility to be used aggressively as well. #1 Reaper plays prove his kit is strong as ever and does not need to be reworked for viability. I remember playing vs havoc a couple times in qp as far back as ow 1 season 20, I didnt know who he was but after the first game I knew he was insane. I did win a couple times against him cause qp mmr can also get pretty high so he cant just solo carry everything and his playstyle is really flank orientated and plays split. I knew to just jump him on winton to deny a lot of his value and force him out cause with armour and a support often you didnt even need to use bubble. He is really goated tho

A lot of DPS (esp meta ones like tracer ashe) have been directly or indirectly nerfed since the tank Giga buff changes, reaper relatively does better since tanks don't instantly kill him even if he has no cooldowns where as if an if like an ashe has no coach and a dva sees her it's over. Unironically junkrat been his best in ranked (except the days when he got like 2 tires in a fight) right now cuz he scares tanks and can get away from em easily

reaper has no counters??? i play reaper literally time i queue dps, i sure FEEL countered by widow this season. maybe i'm doing something wrong, but every time i try to focus on another target, even if i'm paying attention to positions and natural cover, it feels like the moment i want to go for an even _slightly_ risky kill, i just get insta-donk'd by widow, and i can do nothing to counter her unless i ignore almost everything else and focus her until she swaps. i can't tp to any flanks either without getting immediately pressured/killed. it's so horrible that i've started playing less these days... who knows, i'm probably just really bad at the game...

Reaper is good against tank (not queen) and supports. Fighting dps should be your last option as reaper but if not you can push the dps away by just being there as reaper melts enemies without cooldowns. Just be careful of cas cause his flash can basically kill you. Use tp to get to the most random high places to scare enemies away or kill air targets. However this is real map situational for anti air reaper, sometimes it’s just not possible lol For ult try to use it without being obvious by not using wraith. You can tp behind them instead. Also time your ult with DVA ult if you can as you could teamkill if the DVA bomb is at a spot that won’t kill u during ult. Finally, never ult when DVA is meched, ur ult is worthless when matrix is up or down cause she’ll get it back too fast. Oh and don’t jump when reaper 1v1 I learnt that the hard way.

I once won a game on reaper with zero kills but I kept harassing a ash with a hardcore mercy Pocket. I could kill them but they couldn't kill me or anyone else so I basically took nearly half the team away from the fight and my team just outlasted them because we had two supports while they had one. Depends on the goal. If as a dps you can distract a support or two and take them out the fight. Then you’ve done your job without even killing them and more often than not their tank with no heals will get rolled by your team and you can then clean up

maybe hes baiting the enemy attention. Inmagine ur a support, if u hear hellfire shotguns blasting the side of ur face u would rather react by turning and looking at reaper to ascertain how immediate the danger is (he is close or not). But if u waited longer u would know hes far from the little hp drops. But it doesnt matter, subconsciously you will commit to looking at reaper most of the time because he is a close range hero who shoots when hes close usually even if hes not and he can switch it up which mean youre forced to check eitherway, that split second u wasted was the time u cud have been using to actually help the main fight, the cost is u cud have been sniped from gaps, missed to see an enemy crucial ability comeback, didnt dodge nade etc etc. All reaper lost was his positioning for a few seconds and also he gained ult and he can TP quickly to entirely reset where u think he is.

No.1 Yzn didn't even care about him, meanwhile, reaper desperately wanted to kill yzn. YZN hits air shots on pharmacy solo. Hitting a reaper standing on solid ground is a nothing burger. No. 2 Any decent juno kills that reaper that whiffs at point blank range. No.3 While you're praising the reaper, literally. His junker queen is putting dudes in the dirt. constantly getting final blows on the kill feed. No.4 Gotta scold yzn for not booping the reaper when he teleported. He could have 1, booped reaper off the map or high ground. He also could have booped confirmed into a rocket, like hes done so many times. No.5 its quite strange that for as much attention he dedicated to juno. It never yielded anything impressive. Lastly reaper being by the light house wasn't an ideal spot. Being on top of the roof closest to the enemy spawn would have been practical. He could just fall to the floor and fight the juno since hes so obsessed and wraith out. Thats more practical than holding that position on the light house just to teleport away.
