I honestly enjoyed the fastest lap point. It gave an extra incentive to drivers and was so little reward it pretty would never matter in the championship fight. Hat tricks/grand slams are already such a rare thing to have, I imagine the number will only go down with the FL point.

Imo when the fuel loads start to drop, and the fastest lap keeps refreshing, its not very accurate if it was actually the fastest lap or just fuel/tire economy. I'd say lets give 1 point for each p1 position during qualifying. When all fuel loads and tires are equal so it's mostly driver skill and car design. Since qualifying is very competitive

So many people clearly have hearing issues, so here it is for you: The existance of the adjustor js legal, and every team has them. The allegation is that Redd Bull might have adjusted the aero under parc ferme condtitions, which is illegal. Other teams adjust them in overt ways, from outside. Red Bull adjust theirs covertly from deep inside the cockpit, having removed some panels and reached in deep. The driver cannot adjust this.

I distinctly remember, during winter testing, seeing a photo of the damper mounted between the bottom of the chassis and the bib. The Red Bull one looked a very complicated solution compared to others with wires and hoses attached to it. I wouldn't be surprised if the demonstration the mechanics gave the FIA was just how they access the mounting screws 😂

@@Bobby11 the braking wasn't already in the rules, it was just ADDED to the rules (in the middle of this year), so it wasn't illegal until it got rumored out of nowhere, so while mclaren didn't break any rules with their wing, redbull also didn't break the rules with their braking don't have comments on the height changing though, since they still haven't found guilty of using them after quali, and all teams have the same system in their cars anyway (for obvious reasons of changing setups during practice and stuff)

TBH, wouldn't both the act of adjusting the system and a change in ride height be detectable by scrutineers? I thought they had cameras and laser body work scanners, in addition to work being supervised by FIA engineers. This kind of seems like something where if it had been used illegally all season, the FIA could have found something in a careful review. The whole 'could have been used to cheat but no evidence...' thing seems to actually hold up some here. I mean, by all means slap those stickers over it for an extra, and hopefully inexpensive layer of security about it. It's how other things are handled. But until Red Bull starts having massive problems after this, it kind of seems like this is a lot of fuss over very little. Teams have quite legitimate reasons to adjust ride heights during practice and the like.

To all the comments saying why is it on the car 1 all the teams have it 2 it is part of set up changes which means it can be changed however you like until the car leaves the pit at the start of qualifying then the only setting that can be changed is the front wing setting usually done when changing tyre compounds

Not every team has it ... that is the thing... it was discovered by other teams when the scehamtics were uploaded to the FIA server.. Other teams don't do it from the cockpit ... For example Mercedes adjust it with the nose down in the same way they do the suspension...

​@cazadon The problem with RBR bib is that it was designed in way that you could potentially change in parc ferme without the FIA noticing. Now RBR, on scout's honour, has said that once fully assembled it's impossible to do that. However, after a review and discussion with the FIA, a new test was introduced to insure that was actually happening and not having to rely on the team's telling the truth.

This indicates that part or all of the bib/undersides can be moved independently to the chassis. That would be something for the FIA to police. From what I understand then, most teams regulate the tray's height with a device outside the car, and Red Bull's decide is mounted on the cockpit. Is that right? It means they can adjust car from a super light low fuel quali and the heavy, max fuel race. It means they can run lower than all their rivals in qualifying without car dragging in race when all the fuel is added. It's a significant advantage and why cars can't be touched between quali and race. It means RB can get poles/top 4 with a car that wouldn't be as competitive in race trim ride height. THAT'S the issue. I think that's why starting with tyres you'd qualified on appeared-fear of shenanigans when car is off the floor😉🤣🤣😂
