It's also great that the president is not at all phased by the fact that there's a ship with impossible propulsion, but rather that it's in *his* airspace

That, and an earlier scene where he's talking to his commanding officers about what he wants done to the Redline Racers. The last guy, bad with names, isn't standing at attention. Instead of berating the guy, the president "shows" his guy how to stand at attention, without cutting himself off.

I think my favorite part of this movie was that none of the racers died. Now if you've seen this movie in its entirety you know full well at least most of them wouldn't have made it. That includes those two twins. The girls from super grass, gori rider, Lynch Man would've definitely survived. But most of them wouldn't have made it. So instead of killing the racers the writers killed everyone else🤣🤣🤣

One theory for Redline is that the race was placed on that planet specifically to expose and destroy Funky Boy, to cripple their ability to fight a war.

The plot of Redline in a nutshell: A bunch of sci-fi dumbasses get set loose to race on a planet full of militaristic dumbasses unleashing the largest dumbass of all, Funky Boy, who is no match for the biggest dumbass of all, Sweet JP. And despite what I just said, it is one of the best anime I've ever watched.

Their is so much lore amd story to this universe i really wish it was explored more. Plus I wonder how many bio weapons like Funky Boy were made and used before the peace treaty made them illegal and if their are more.

Redline is underrated as hell and its an absolute MASTERPIECE that, i dont think will EVER be topped Redline essentially looked at akira's pretiness and smooth animation and they went 'huh, cute. Here's how its done for real' and the madmen actually did it They created one of the most bombastic, gorgeous pieces of animation that has ever been made Its impossible to understate just how awesome and excellent Redline is. If there was 'peak anime' this'd be it. Hands down.

+ plot armor time. two oа racer's vehicles had иeen destroyed during the trip from entry poing. The pink robo-girl now and that bug-like bronze car when we seen episode with it being crashed into the track.

no, it wasn't commercially successful but madhouse is one of the biggest and oldest studios in Japan, they don't put money on projects they can't afford to lose. It is unfortunate though because this was basically the last time they took a risk on something interesting.

Little witch academia started from crowdfunding, i'm not sure why it's not becoming more popular Hell, many old jp game devs already create spiritual successor for their games (which are mostly stuck in rights jail) via kickstarter

ok we need a full series or just a whole MCU type of movies centered arround Red Line there´s so much shit to explore how JP got his whole jail shit, Sonoshi´s rise to racedom, what happened in Super Grass for their princess to be so small, why Robo World is like this, Trava´s whole life pre racer (i thinkthats been done) and hell might aswell see how Captain Toblot became Lynchman´s antagonist

To me Redline stands out because it tells so much with so little. You can rewatch it multiple times and pick out all the little details that expand the plot and characters without the modern "we're going to dictate every last item" style story telling

they're not strictly bad guys. and the plot armor still works, like the key part of story line. But for comedy effect it's here and just in place!

Calling them incompetent isn't exactly fair. They were basically invaded by a galactic spanning corporation that had a sponsor that could use theoretical methods of travel. Basically it was like a cavemen having a bunch of race cars teleport into their cave.
