Yes! It’s all about having the right gear and you can stay dry and warm, the only things that stop me are accumulating snow and salted roads (for safety reasons) otherwise I ride! Good luck on your adventure and if you choose motorcycling ride safe!

I agree when I worked I did the same. I went from Queens to Westbury. I just retired and if I can't ride where I have to go I don't go.

I used to work there. Across the street from Navy Yard. All the way back in '90s. BQE wasn't fun then. Now it's out right oppressive.

Ever since they did lane reduction it’s been crazy, 35 minutes on the motorcycle vs an hour and a half in a car… and that’s on days without accidents or breakdowns that cause lane closures! 😡

I watched u tube clip 3 days ago where traffic was at a standstill and a idiot opened his door and a Big bike smashed straight into it .lucky for the idiot he had not stepped out when the bike arrived a split sec later.

@@charlesmorris8491 "I'd probably be more annoyed if there were more motorcycles though. These people drive like idiots. I can't imagine on a motorcycle they'd be any better." All while illegally lane splitting, weaving in and out of lanes without signaling, riding the shoulder and potentially exceeding the posted speed limit. Stay in New York. You people deserve each other.

Another problem cars had 20,, 30 feet between each other. Then that on ramp at the end had 2 semis driving side by side impeding traffic

You could still use motul 5100 if the bike was acting funny in the wintertime anyways. It would help you out alot

Do you ever get pulled over for splitting there? I ride just like you but I've been pulled over a couple times here.

@@mississippidrifter5960 a few times yes, I’ve had good experiences though and have been let go with a warning. I do keep my eyes well down the road in the hopes I can spot one before they spot me, doesn’t always work but I try to be respect and not do it in front of them

It's a bit more sketchy with a wider bagger. I've done it before, and some cars sway a bit too close. Nowadays, I use an electric stand-up scooter on mostly bike lanes. It goes up to 55MPH, and it's about as fast as lane splitting on a bike going from Queens to Manhattan. The Stratoliner is weekends only now 😢
