I had a short wheel sabe recumbent back in graduate school. Rode it to class every day. It was a blast, and fast!

Exercise with a view! You have so much fun on a recumbent you do not realize you are exercising!

I went out and found 15 miles of bike trails at a local park on my mountain bike. It was hard for some reason. My heart rate was very high most of the ride. Next day, butt hurt, pinky tip was numb due to pressure on the wrist and my neck hurt for 3 days from leaning over and old whiplash injury. I love the park trails though. I bought a nice used Trike off Craigslist and I've been hitting the trails every other day. Nothing is sore and it's enjoyable. The only thing is some leg muscle burn which just means I'm getting exercise. Some people like it and some chuckle bc it looks different. Who cares though. I recommend mostly flat areas, no big hills. Otherwise look into the electric assist trikes.

I like the idea of having the tent or the shade that installed on recumbent. Can you please let me know where I can find it ?
@StellarFella5 жыл бұрын
For many of us seniors, most recumbents sit too low. They are too hard to get down into and back up out of. We have balance and strength issues. But the Terra Trike Rover and TRIOT trikes ride higher and solve that problem quite well. If they can afford them, many seniors will be riding them. I will be test riding a TRIOT trike in March. Check them out.

Oh, I thought it depended on the type of money used or the type of gas used in the inner tubes. Thanks for the details!

what do you do during the winter, do you use the trike exerciser, which is the two rollers on the ground like i saw in another video by laid back cycle..

How effective is it at training your core?
@brauljo4 жыл бұрын
Probably not very, even on an upright bike where you need your core to support you, your core is not worked that much. Training your core makes you a better cyclist, the opposite isn't really true.

@@laverdadbuscador Bikes with weird designs tend to not have great handling. But if that's not a problem, maybe rowing bikes could be what you're looking for.

weaving through traffic? no
@tunesmith19828 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend "weaving" through traffic in or on any vehicle. But recumbent trikes "take the lane" very well, and we ride them regularly in traffic on local roads and downtown in major cities. They are more visible than DF bikes and generally get more respect and attention.

Shhhhh! Don’t say that too loudly, or my trike, “Annie” might hear you. I don’t want her to know that she is not allowed to average 16.7 mph over a 46 mile ride. Or that she isn’t capable of going faster than 50 mph :)
