Why Risk It??? SpaceX's Ramping Up Upgrades The Chopsticks For Catching Starship Flight 5...
SpaceX once amazed the world by successfully landing a rocket booster. But now, they are facing an even bolder challenge-catching a giant rocket falling from the sky.
In Starship Flight 5, to catch the Super Heavy, the key factor is not only how the rocket lands but also the synchronized movement of the giant catching arms-part of Mechazilla.
Therefore, as a new milestone approaches, SpaceX is speeding up upgrades to these arms.
What have they done so far? Are there any challenges awaiting SpaceX in Flight 5?
All will be in today’s episode of Alpha Tech:

With what has been revealed over time, we all know that SpaceX is determined to catch the Starship booster-Super Heavy-during the upcoming launch, even though some skeptics doubt this move, knowing it carries certain risks. However, to pioneer or break old conventions, one must not be afraid! SpaceX is remarkable in its belief in the long-term and vast potential that catching the rocket can bring.

The process of catching the rocket is entirely handled by a tower that CEO Elon Musk calls "Mechazilla." This tower is equipped with various functions to support the entire operation. Mechazilla's simplest part is a third arm that is vertically fixed in place but can swing left and right. This swing arm contains plumbing and an umbilical device that connects to Starship’s upper stage, supplying propellant, gas, power, and connectivity.
But more importantly, there is an essential component-a pair of giant, far more complex arms called Chopsticks. Giant hinges connect the pair of arms to a carriage that grabs onto three of the tower’s four legs with a dozen skate-like appendages. These skates are outfitted with wheels, allowing the carriage to roll up and down tracks built into the tower’s legs.
