Man, so excited to see him get another season with Handy and LBJ mentoring him. He's just starting to tap his potential with developing confidence and his ability to play off 2. I think his defense will take another step this season as well.

Another important aspect of his game that fits well with the Lakers is his improved defence, It takes some pressure of AD and Bron by putting him on the other team's best player. He showed he is capable of being a high level defender by guarding Jokic in the playoffs, with his size, strength and skill, sky is the limit for this man! Hope he thrives!

Honestly, I don't think Phil Handy gets enough credit for the work he's done ever since joining the organization. His player developmental prowess is unmatched. And you couple that with our top-notch scouting department, you get players like Reaves and Christie thriving as a Laker. Rui is no exception. The Lakers need to hold on to Handy very tightly.

Oddly enough Rui Hachimura was ran out of the Washington Wizards organization by Kyle Kuzma's high volume scoring. Recently receiving a 100 million dollar contract from the Washington Wizards.

Washington really mismanaged the start of Rui's career. You knew this guy was going to be special but instead of developing him they had him playing second fiddle to Kuzma by the end on a team that wasn't even close to contending.
