If you know some stereotypes about Russia, Russians loving Adidas is one of the most famous ones. So, why do Russians wear Adidas and where does this love come from? Just like many things, it all goes back to the Soviet Union. #russia #ussr #soviet #gopnik #adidas #slav

addidas was a black american thing back in the 1980s. Then micheal jordan and nike came and destroyed everything. Now Jordans are too expensive for even black folks. But I would say Jordan is still the highest status you can get in the U.S. when it comes to street wear.

@@anthonygordon9483 There’s certainly room to discuss Russia’s love of this brand in contrast to the general racism against Black people in Russian culture; I feel like your legit observation about the gentrification of Adidas might be worth it’s own series of videos from a creator who handles such subjects
@anthonygordon9483
@anthonygordon9483 5 ай бұрын
@@Canoby lol sounds interesting. I am very aware of both cultures. But I think when it comes to Russia, Racism is the last thing we should be worried about because Russia is more sprung on nationalism then racism. They can not conform to western society simply because they are living in the past. Also they feel they should be controlling the countries they did when they were a empire, hints the ukraine war. They dont care about being superior to black people as much as they feel they are superior to europe in general. In a sense they are more racist to western society then black people. Black American Culture is apart of western society in which they are proudly to adopt like the rest of western cultures while feeling superior to them at the same time.

My first exposure to Eastern European and Slavic culture was through Life of Boris, who is a bit of a gopnik and gave me the impression that all Eastern Europeans were vodka chugging Adidas wearing squatters who eat borsht for breakfast and drive Ladas.
