That, along with the ridiculous excessive regulations in SF, it pushes A LOT of jobs out of the market and makes it extremely difficult to start a small business.

I am not a rich person trying to protect my class at the expense of the poor, I'm just an average 20 year old kid that has been studying economics for years. The problem is inflation, not the minimum wage. Employers can't do what they did in 1968 because everything is so damn expensive now and that is the truth whether you like it or not. Inflation hurts poor people the most because they can't afford the constantly rising costs of living, and employers can't afford to hire them.

Not all employers can and not all jobs are deserving of a living wage. These laws make it impossible for the youth or the poor to ever find a job. Do you really think any job will hire low skilled workers at $10+ an hour? This law inadvertently punishes the inexperienced. Sure those who get to keep their jobs will get paid more, but what about all of those who don't, or will never get hired? It is the most anti-poor person law there is. We need to focus on the cost of living by curbing inflation.

Increasing the minimum wage is anti-poor and dangerous. Businesses can't hire a poor person for any task worth less than $10+ an hour. How is a poor person supposed to ever get a job when a business is required to pay him at least over $10 an hour? Are you guys just totally oblivious to how many jobs will be lost, or not created? Plenty of businesses hire over the wage law anyway, all this law does is put stress on small business and cut off the bottom of the economic ladder to the poor.

I hope either President Obama or someone will raise minimum wage to $8.25 and then index all wages to rise and fall with inflation. Some jobs might be lost at first but as families have more income in their pockets, they'll spend more to pay off their bills and companies will begin to get their profits back. As they earn back all the money, companies can use their new profits to begin hiring even more people than before. It just depends on how companies finance all their profits.

thats just propaganda to protect the rich. If employers just had the decency to pay a living wage to the workers, there wouldnt need to be minimum wage laws. Theyre not struggling, they just want more profits at the expense of everyone else.
