I think Sanjog Koirala didn't understand what the sharks in the Shark Tank show do cuz they don't invest in your idea they invest in your business analysing the gross marjin of the product its sales, cost of acquisition of customers, cost of product service, valuation of the company, profits and others. Having a show like that will help a lot of the young entrepreneurs who want to do something in Nepal. Don't pass your words on something if you don't have understood it properly.

I agree with Sanjog 100%. Patent is really important for a business. With no patent, the root of the business becomes very weak hence operating a business would be scary and more uncertain. How can an investor invest their money when their ideas can be stolen. This hugely implements for the new startups. All businesses are different.

They just pitch to receive funds and expertise from the investors to grow their business more. However I’m not how business or start up works in Nepal. Nepalis could get patent from India, if not in nepal

Shark Tank is for more of a startup than idea. They invest in startups in exchange of equity while analyzing valuation of a company and the gross marjin to grow well established business to the ultimate possibilities in market rather than a idea than is not even executed yet.

We already have something better than sharktank.. it’s called Idea Studio Nepal... It’s running on its 6th season now. Instead of equity stakes ,they are purely for mentoring and incubation purposes.

Ideas mean nothing really. If you come up with something today, whether or not you tell that in national television, 100 other copies will be there. The more important part is execution. How well the idea is executed is much more important. No one invests in ideas, you will have to show what work you have done. If you have taken your idea, worked on it and made a relatively small business out of it, you're already way ahead in terms of expertise and market experience. So i dont think patent will really matter.

Shark tank is all about startups who are seeking investment in exchange of equity. Hawa kura na garum, shark tank is not about pitching idea only and getting money. If that startup is not generating Revenue, doesn’t have substantial GP and NP, you wont get investment. Simple.
