This is a lesson in so many layers. When my God-fearing father died, my mother buried him with the veterans' honors the military gave. Then she walked away and has never visited his grave. She knows he is with the Lord and only his husk remains on earth. She is comforted by the Lord and doesn't need to visit my father's grave. She also knows that when she dies she will be in heaven with the Lord and my father- however that works. Moses' grave should not be a place where people would turn him into a god; like the heathen do. Only Our Father, Our Savior and the Holy Spirit should be worshipped. I believe Moses did not get to see the promise. Land because when him and Aaron were instructed to hit the rock and allow the water to burst out, they did not give GOD the Glory For allowing the water to come forth from the top of the mountain. Correct. Scripture says God told Moses he wasn't going to get to enter the promised land at that time because he did not halllow Him in front of the people when it came to tapping the rock for water. Moses was frustrated and fed up with the Israelites at the time. Moses later got to enter the Promised Land when he and Elijah met with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration (Mount Tabor), which sits between Mount Carmel and Mount Nabor. Mount Nabor is the place where Moses died semicolon it overlooks a Promised Land.

I think the mysterious death, burial and subsequent contention over his body has something to do with him witnessing Jesus' Transfiguration, along with Elijah (who was not dead). It also may be connected with him (Moses) being one of the 2 witnesses who are killed in the street and resurrected after 3.5 days. Remember his 'glowing' countenance after descending Mt. Sinai? I believe the reason was that God needed Moses for a future purpose. He will be one of the two witnesses in Revelation. Beyond any shadow of a doubt the two witnesses are definitely Moses and Elijah. Moses and Elijah were both anointed. Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind without dying. Although Moses died, his body was also taken up. Deut. 34:6 states no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day, which also explains Jude 1:9, when Michael the Archangel disputed with the devil over the body of Moses. The Lord needed Moses body for a future purpose. Also, look at the miracles that these two men performed in the past that match the miracles that the two witnesses perform in Revelation. Shutting up heaven that it doesn't rain. (Elijah), They both destroyed their enemies by fire. Bringing fire down from heaven or from their mouths (Elijah) Turning water to blood (Moses in Exodus). And all manner of plagues (Moses). The miracles that both of these men performed in the O.T. before, EXACTLY match the miracles that they will perform again and that are described in the book of Revelation chapter 11. Also, both of these men are the last two men mentioned in connection with the Second Advent (Malachi 4:4,5) Moreover, look at the correlation mentioned of the lamp-stands and both men appear with Jesus during the transfiguration on the mountain as WITNESSES that Jesus was the messiah to Peter, James and John. Also, it was both Moses AND Elijah that were on Mt. Sinai for forty days and nights with nothing to eat or drink. They are also the olive branches mentioned both in Zechariah 4:11-14 and Rev 11:4. THESE ARE THE TWO ANOINTED ONES THAT STAND BY THE LORD OF THE WHOLE EARTH (Rev. 11:4) Now: And Elijah said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I STAND. (1 Kings 17:1) And the LORD said, behold, there is a place BY ME and thou shalt STAND... (Exodus 33:21) Finally, both of these men are identified as prophets. There is absolutely no doubt about it!

Moses was not unseated by Joshua. There was no takeover. Moses was not allowed to enter the promised land at that time. When he died, Joshua was appointed by God to be the next leader because Joshua believed what God said rather than what was seen (giants) when they spied out the land. Translations often use the word kill (thou shalt not kill) for the Ten Commandments, but the actual word was murder. God is the one who told Joshua to take the army and wipe everyone out so they would not corrupt God's chosen people. Moses actually did get to make it into the Promised Land later on. The Mount of Transfiguration where he and Elijah met up with Jesus was in the Promised Land.😁

I would like to know how Jude got that information. I do know that Jude quotes from the book of Enoch in Jude 1:14-15, which is in the Apocrypha. I am assuming he got it from there. Many people don’t believe the Apocrypha is acceptable, but it IS! In fact Enoch and 1st and 2nd Esdras was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Jesus quotes from it also in 2nd Esdras 1:30 “I gathered you together, as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings: but now, what shall I do unto you? I will cast you out from my face.” It seems to be books Jesus and the Disciples were very familiar with and studied even fro childhood.

I started to read the book of Enoch until the 3rd chapter when he mentions the land of DAN and the river of Dan. How can someone talk about a place that would not even exist for a thousand years? This would be like Columbus returning to Spain and talking about seeing Times Square and the statue of Liberty. Baloney! As far as 2nd Esdras goes, Jesus is quoting about an Apocryphal book from ANOTHER Apocryphal book. The Apocrypha are JEWISH books, but are NOT even in the Jewish bible? The Jews don’t even believe it’s inspired scripture. Almost all of the Apocrypha was written BETWEEN the testaments, well after Malachi, the last known prophet, and before John the Baptist. How then could it be inspired text? There were no prophets for almost 400 years. Some of these books may have some historical significance like Maccabees. But they were no more inspired than the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. Moreover, In the New Testament, there are almost 500 verses from the Old Testament that are either directly quoted or alluded to by Jesus and by the Apostles, but NOT ONE SINGLE VERSE from the Apocrypha is ever quoted or mentioned by any one of them. Not one! Finally, Jesus himself told us EXACTLY what the Old Testament canon was in Luke 24:44: all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the LAW OF MOSES [the Torah], in the prophets [Nevim] and in the psalms [Ketuvim], concerning me. That is the Jewish and Protestant Old Testament. Anything in there at all about the Apocrypha? Jesus, who was a Jew, gave us the three parts of the JEWISH bible right there in Luke!

Just because satan fought over Moses's body does not mean Moses died. He had a work to do for God that required him to have his body, his meeting with Christ on the mount of transfiguration. Satan is always trying to frustrate or destroy God's work and he will do anything he can. As Moses was transfigured he kept his body, Satan was trying to prevent Moses from completing his assignment by trying to claim Moses's body as a part of death but would not allow that and satan had to leave union the body of Moses.
