This was filmed four years before my Dad got a job in EK and we moved into a brand new house in Greenhills in Sept 1974. The views reminded me of what it looked like back then and it was quite a change for us to move there from a tenement in Govanhill, Glasgow. My poor mum in particular found it a huge culture shock, moving away from where she'd spent her life, friends and family to a house with a back and front door and two children out at school. We lived there until 1980, when my Dad had to move again due to work. Most of the green spaces of our few years there are now housing schemes. Quirky wee film, thanks!

Ravishing this filmclip.A foreigner in Scotland back in the 1970 was surely seen as an odd fellow. Positive industrial leaps.

This is an absolute gem of footage. I wonder if they kept all the B-roll?

I visited there in 86. Biggest nightlife was a pub called the Gemini. Is it still there?

I wonder if he had time to bust someone's ass? Everything's bottomed, as Basil remarked. 😂😂

Engineering is dead in Scotland now, killed off in the late 1980's. Now it's just supermarkets and shopping malls.😢
