Not many knows. here is some thing you all to ponder. Year of DOG!!!! Who are they? Great arguer. Born with skill of mouth. Tongue english word came from Dog. 20000 years ago tamil were spoken everywhere. In Tamil - tongie means NAKKU. Why Nakku why not tongue. Simple...Same tamil spoken in some place will have different context. Dog tongue is basically Tonggu...means hanging.. So chinese when they assigned animal sign to humans born in particular year., its incredible they assigned dog sign to people who is expert arguer. Now back to who are dogs? Megan Kelly Marco Rubio Donald Trump Kim Jon un Matt Gaetz Bill Clinton George bush jr ( black sheep , he never looked like born in dog year. may be wrong birth date) Sylvester stallone. You can smell dog person miles away . They are bull dog. Fight Fight is their mantra. They feel like they are always underdog , so always energiser bunny. You will rarely see LAZY dog person. Ok all good. What is bad? They are last man standing along with OX but ox will die off by its own vomit like vivek ramaswamy. You have to be clever about your limits. you cant be shouting like with mega phone. BAD? Drama queen. Great entertainer. Annoying some times but generally , its only thing they know. That is being drama queen. They dont go fight somewhere... they pull people into their zone and beat them. They have a range. Within that they are a bull dog. Who is their kryptonite? Year of rabbit.

One of the main reasons China is so powerful today is because the US companies moved their manufacturing to China in the 1970s to save a few cents. That lack of vision has proven fatal for the Western world. The US has a big part of the blame here.

People really need to make some deep research before making comments based on false statements. We have been told by some people with a bit amount of power who are not just leading a country but represents the dignity of over 335M of US citizens according to the last Bureu of Census and one of the most critical things here is the impact reflected based on every single word that comes out of these people mind , because normally , when you become a President , Major , Senator, higher rank officer and so on , you are supposed to have some sort of intelligence that can backup all the information you are providing . In short words you cannot just speak based on feelings or the type of mood you feel like …. It goes waaay beyond that, Otherwise you can caused exactly this , Chaos and tension among countries, unless this is exactly your clear expectations . 1- You going to tell me that the US wait 30 years to notice there was a sensitive threat in Panama , due to Chinese port terminals are sitting down right at the edge of both Pacifc and Atlantic side of the Canal? That really tells me how vulnerable the US country is and why most of the disasters that internally happened in the past , couldn’t get stop on time! 2- If you really worried about the Chinese presence why did you even let Hutchinson port to settle down in the West coast ( same port terminal now in discussion in Panama ) and not to talk about other Big Chinese projects around the US 3- Did I really hear that 35k US souls died during the construction of the Canal? Come on now , you know there are couple history books out there we can refer to ? one of them is called Hell’s George the Battle of the Canal .. written by a famous writer Matthew Parker , you will be impressed that even though it’s uncertain the right exact number of people that died during that period, the registry for US Americans doesn’t even get close to half of the total number mentioned and the sad thing about it is that we really need to refer to a couple of events that took and are taking place as : The Building of the Panama Interoceanic Railroad by American company in the 1850s - currently this company it is on the spot because is not paying the right amount of taxes and/or avoiding crucial responsibilities (money wyse) with the local Panama government. (Court process) Lots of events over that decades in which 10k people died from different countries ( couple of hundreds were Americans) French period 1880s- 25k died ( but countries like French and many other in the Caribbean were majority vs US presence , following by the build of the Canal itself 1904 when US took over until 1914 when it was completed 4 - lastly after all these events and the US doing whatever they feel like, the overnight on Dec. 20, 1989, nearly 30,000 US soldiers attacked positions across a weak Panama with no Army , killing thousands of locals and estimate 50k + people lost their homes. ( Hurray) Operation Just cause still a very traumatic event for the Nation, adding the fact that a case was launch against the US with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights but unfortunately case still open trying to find the US responsible for the attack. Here we are now , Jan 2025 , and the US is worried about the Chinese presence in Panama … life is so beautiful but Karma is like a boomerang sometimes , always wishing the best for the good people but this is it !

Panama has historically (since the ousting of Noriega) vacillated from a lean right president to a lean left president. The left presidents are always a disaster. For example in 2000 the left president gave half of a province to natives. The natives immediacy mismanaged it by charging tolls to semi trucks. Natives in Panama are a big problem. In 2017 the liberal president who signed the belt and road innovation was super unpopular. He was called the “Tortuga” or turtle because he didn’t do anything. Right now they have a lean right president who is investigating the deals given to the Chinese companies. No doubt looking for a way to nullify those deals.

As a Panamanian I’m very confused with Rubio’s comments. 1. China doesn’t need control of a port, or a bridge for that matter to stop transit. It’ll be enough just to blow or sink a ship. The canal defense is nearly impossible and the SC knew it. 2. The US didn’t pay for all the new sets of locks and Modifications since 2000. And it used Panamanian lands for a long while for almost free. 3. It is true, there were many deaths when the canal was built, but most of them were not Americans. The US dropped the ball by refusing to invest in commercial maritime infrastructure for many years, and now want to fix it by going back to imperialism tactics.

For a long time, the United States took advantage of Latin economies. The free trade agreement benefited the United States more than Latin America. It was to be expected that this would open a space for China in Latin America. Americans do not know the Latin reality and what it costs us to live. However, the best solution would be to create ties and bridges but Mr T. only threatens. That is wrong and it is arrogance. North American people. Study the Latin American reality before supporting oppressive policies that will only bring more poverty for both sides.

Some statements are incorrect. Panamá charges the same rates to all ships, American ships do not pay more. On the other hand the Chinese ports have been in Panama for 26 years, Panamá has had diplomatic relations with China for only 7 years. Thousands of Americans did not die making the canal, most of the the workers were from Jamaica, China and Panama. I do not see the need to lie to the American public.

A missunderstood from Secretary Rubio is that a Chineae company invested in the ports. Those ports were adjudicated in 1997 while the company from Hong Kong was still under british administration. Also the ports might be at the entrance of the Panama Canal, but are not directly blocking the Canal and every ship that enters the Panama Canal Zone must be commanded by a Panamanian Capitan. No chinese ship can block it because it will be intervein by the National Aeronaval Service

The U.S. contributed heavily to the construction and initial operations of the Panama Canal, investing millions of dollars and thousands of lives to complete it. The U.S. also maintained the canal for almost a century after its construction, which creates a legacy of contribution that should allow the USA to be exempt from any cost to use it. Why did we ever start paying for passage to begin with?
@sprak0792
@sprak0792 9 күн бұрын
I do agree that special tolls should be attributed to the US on the basis of our shared history, but although the Canal was built with US investment and thousands of lives were lost, most of them were not american, and the contributions of the Canal went mostly to the US while a nominal fee was paid to Panama. The truth is that the Canal handed out to Panama was at the end of its life and had to be upgraded for new kind of container ships passing through it since the year 2000.

It's concerning that a journalist would share misinformation without fact-checking. Has she even been to Panama? The truth is that the Panama Canal is solely managed by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), and no country is charged differently based on nationality-tolls follow a transparent and standardized structure. Spreading false claims like this only fuels confusion. Responsible journalism requires proper research.

The Canal and Canal Zone were transferred to Panama on Dec 1999, there's no going back. Giving privileges to the US would also violate the treaty because it would not be fair for other countries, thus Panama Canal would not be neutral. Panama, as a country, has been and is pro US, despite some tragic moments in their history. I believe the US should focus on investing in Panama (i.e.helping us fix the water issue) if they want China to get out of the picture - it would be far more supported by panamanians. Claiming something that the US gave away decades ago only leads to pointless confrontations. Panamanian here! I love your show. Thank you!!

The US would have to dedicate trillions of dollars to secure the entire country and we're talking twice the population of the Palestinians and 210% the size of the Gaza strip including mountainous, tropical terrain. Plus, learning to use the new expanded canal, especially if the control centers are destroyed and/or the locks are dinimized, would take at least a year to repair and reverse engineer. Shipping costs would destroy the US economy, push away every ally in Latin America and Europe, and hand Democrats the next 16 years worth of elections.

That’s not entirely true. In the other hand, USA left Panamá not all the way around. Panamá never kick out Americans they lost interest in our land and China did play their cards. So, the retoric ‘we paid for it’ don’t apply, you put the money and we THE LAND! We where partners until you let us go!
