Making Winston Churchill as he's commonly called a relative of Diana's, he was a Spencer Churchill infact his name was that, infact believe that was his title Marlborough actually but I can't quite remember. Is a tour of Althorp rather covertly of the family estate (where in the lake is Diana's resting place, the island on the lake rather), or the house rather really interesting actually by the Earl Spencer (Charles Diana's younger brother).

For the most part, I agree with you about her behavior. She was tired of the bs and I can totally sympathize. It's the stuff with the gun that concerns me. There's a standard in the US, at least, "danger to oneself or others." And when she threatened to shoot the kids, well, she seemed to me to at least brush up against that line, if not cross it. And that's just the stuff covered here.

The 'lives' you're able to investigate, are amazing, causing us to realize fully, that they were--truly forgotten! Thank you. I've inquired a couple of other historical hosts, of the lives of William and Caroline Lamb, to little avail. He, being a former PM and close advisor and friend to Queen Victoria, whose marriage was ruined possibly, by the poet Lord Byron, may be of little interest to them as a subject matter. As an American, I may not understand the true reason behind their stance! Would you be open to it? I hope so, as I've tried for nearly 2 yrs, perhaps more I believe and that threesome, has not lost any interest for me, as my curiosity yet remains. Thanx again and continue your excellent work! 💕

Hello 👋 how are you doing?
@WhitneyDahlin2 жыл бұрын
I suspect it's because they didn't want to be associated with a mad woman. Especially relatives. It was considered extremely shameful to have someone mentally ill in the family. It would tarnish your family and people wouldnt want to marry someone who had mental illness in the family for fear their children would end up mentally ill as well. At this time they were even forcibly sterilizing people in mental institutions. It was so looked down on that the late Queen Elizabeth had two of her relatives locked up in a mental asylum and both of them died in the asylum in like 2011 and 2014. She still refused to let them out. I don't know why friends didn't reach out but I assume she might have threatened or scared any friends she had off with her behavior? Or maybe they only wanted to be friends with her when she was beautiful and popular. Or I could be completely wrong and lots of people reached out to her but she chose to not speak to them

I'm reading Hugo Vickers biography of her right now. It seems like her family set her up for instability from the get go. Her parents don't sound like they were much use, and her father succumbed to mental health issues. Beauty is such a double edged sword, people craning their necks to get a look at you and pass judgment, men losing their minds over you and women full of jealousy and resentment. Then when your looks fade you're criticized for aging. It's so sad she felt she had to tamper with her face and then live with the disfigurement. It would be so interesting to hear what she had to say about her life.
